Your podcast audience wants more from you... here's how I know
I'm noticing a HUGE uptick in my client's business goals from the following strategy...
... it's something I'm seeing done more and more across the podcast-o-sphere.
SOLO episodes - where YOU the host are the main content - interspersed with "normal" episodes
Seriously. I haven't seen anything move the needle for my clients' podcasts from a business perspective more than this.
PROS:
- It's simple to do for most podcasters
- It's additional content that doesn't require scheduling & guest-drama (you know what I mean)
- You can batch record - 3, 4, 5, or more episodes in one day
- It lets your audience see YOU as an expert in your niche
CONS:
- You can't rely on guests to bring the goods
- You might have to get a bit more comfortable behind the mic
- You can just vomit up your latest thoughts in most cases - organization is imperative to reap the benefits
- You can't lazy-day your way through it... it's called work
All this to say... maybe you should consider doing this!
I'm honestly surprised at the number of accomplished, business-savvy people who podcast and DON'T get this.
If you try it and it starts to bump your show's progress ahead - you can take the credit for the great idea. I don't mind.
But if you'd let me know (and provide specifics), I'd appreciate that too!
