If you think you can change your entire culture by yourself you are sadly mistaken. You are going to need some help. But it must be the right help! Bring the right partners on your team and you can dramatically accelerate your success in a relatively short time.

You are probably thinking, “I am a small district with a very little budget”. Or, “I don’t have the skill set to execute a major growth in my program”. You have all the resources that you will need…YOU.

For example, ICC worked with a NBA team to help develop marketing strategies designed to positively affect student morale in their market. The results were so rewarding that other schools and groups adapted the idea and also experienced tremendous success.

I heard you saying, “I don’t have a professional sports team in my area”. Or, I don’t know how to contact an organization for assistance”, yes, I read minds. Here are some steps to create partnerships.

• Most organizations have a nonprofit arm. Contact them and set up a face-to-face meeting and let them know what you are trying to do. It could be something as simple as having some of their folks serve on the lunch line or create a message to be played on your office voicemail that promotes your program. Most organization get requests for money. You need to request their time. Tell them that you do not need another playground, you need their expertise.
• If you do not have a professional sports team, you can utilize a local college, or the high school student government or your city commissioner or mayor. They all carry a lot of weight depending on the size of your city.

When you partner with reputable organizations, it brings credibility to your organization and shows the public at large that you are displaying social responsibility.
