Your Own Team Model For High-Performance

Do you know the secret to building a truly high-performing team?

It's focus.

Whenever I work with a team, we quickly realize that there are a thousand things that we could be working on. There are opportunities to explore, weaknesses to fix, actions that will drive cohesion and trust, behaviors that promote performance.

It can all be... a bit much.

Therefore, a team needs something simpler.

A tightening of scope.

My solution?

I call it the Team Performance Triad.

The Team Performance Triad is a team-created model that narrows focus around the top 3 behaviors that will drive team performance and collaboration.

Since designing this workshop, I have realized that some of the most complex issues in the world are often addressed through a simple model.

A splendid example is the incredible rise of Singapore. In 50 years, it went from being a third world country to a first world country. Improving every metric that matters at lightning speed.

The team that drove this incredible transformation focused on three important priorities:

  • Meritocracy - the best person for the job.
  • Pragmatism - do the simple thing and get the job done.
  • Honesty - zero tolerance for corruption.

Of course, there are many actions and steps layered into this simple model.

But you can see how effortlessly it guides decision-making and provides clarity.

This was Singapore's version of a Team Performance Triad.

Your team deserves the same level of focus and simplicity.
