Is your organization safe while your Veeam environment is out of date?
Veeam is one of the biggest names in the business as far as backup and DR is concerned. However, the penalties for running behind on your instance are becoming more costly. For instance, version 11 is now considered EOL and the upgrade may come with additional costs depending on your GFS infrastructure.
Making the jump to version 12 has implications in both configuration and cost for deployments of cloud connect and Tape Infrastructure.
Think you can stay on an older version? Think again! Veeam have announced multiple vulnerabilities in the following (see below). Worse still, support is not accessible for users of EOL versions. Anyone who's worked with Veeam before knows that when you need support, it's usually urgent -particularly if you don't have someone keeping a close eye on your deployment.
Read this article from Veeam to plan your upgrade and keep your environment safe!
NOTE: If you're running version 9 or older, you host infrastructure might not be supported by the upgrade. If it does, you might need to perform several incremental upgrades first. Seek help from Veeam support if you need assistance with this transition!
