Is your Organisation anyway different from Big Boss House ?
John de Mol the Dutch -Media tycoon came up with the idea of Big brother TV show during 1990s ( now as Big Boss) in a format of putting strangers to live in a House( Big Boss House) for a longer period, where they share routines and nominate people for eviction every week …..
Big boss is also based on the Carl jung saying
Is your Orgnisation any way different from this format ?
Organsiations are made up of different people coming from different functional background , with different skill sets.
They are expected to adjust with one another and get along and work along ?
Is there an effective HR process to facilitate this , or left to employees to understand each other and get along and adjust with each other .
In a typical Big boss , there is a Big Boss (as there is a CEO in an Organisation) , there is division of teams, assignment of tasks , and division of work, and there are multiple activities – both individual and group.
Organsiations also have the performance reward related dynamics of each one competing with others in the team for his/her performance ratings, promotions etc.
There are many underlying similarities between "Big Boss House" and "Organisations" .
We are all aware of the stress and strain the participants undergo in an Big boss house… are we aware of these in an organisation set up?
What are the HR systems and process we can suggest to make Organisations different from a big Boss house?
Look forward to your views………….

5 年Big boss is an interesting metaphor.
Building up the right culture and bringing up professionalism in teams might help for better mutual growth. And i personally feel Bigboss and corporate is much different from the level of knowledge , level of skill, capabilities, goals and risks;both have their own aura!! There is a very thin line of similarities which are not qualified to compare both. !!

7 年The focus in both organisations and big boss is to endure a certain period of time and achieve the target leaving aside relationships, virtues, embracing ego etc. In big boss nobody focuses on co living. It is all relationships for convenience to ensure a participant secures oneself and ensures the rest of the period of stay. It is here that people tend to be fake thus camouflaging their original characters. Therefor culture grounding and engagement are key from an HR perspective
