Your Opinion As A Consumer Is Wanted
Now we know that free shipping isn't always free. Often a free shipping offer just means that the cost of shipping is built into the price of the item. As a new e store owner I am faced with the conundrum of whether to offer "free shipping", a flat rate, or standard shipping. So I am asking you which you prefer in the following scenario.
I offer a 3rd party marinade on my site that sells for $7.99 per bottle. It comes in several flavors, all of which are really good BTW. Shipping costs are $16.00 for a medium sized box anywhere in the US. Each box can hold 1-4 bottles.
Option 1: Offer the marinade for $23.99 and free shipping. With this option a customer can add up to 3 more bottles and just pay $7.99 per additional bottle. And they can mix and match flavors.
Option 2: List each marinade for $7.99 and then add the $16.00 fee for shipping at checkout.
Option 3: Modify the multi order purchase price to say $7.99 for one bottle, $6.50 for the second bottle added to the order, $5.50 for the third and $4.50 for the fourth with the same $16.00 shipping cost.
Thank you for taking the time to offer your opinion.

6 年That is a tough decision. Shipping costs can be as much or more than the original item. No wonder Amazon is trying to do its own warehouse to door delivery. I recently put in an online order for a sign for our parking lot. I had everything figured out and then found out the shipping would be something like $25. Kitty, the publisher, did not want to do it. I had a chance to bail out when they said the graphic image I sent did not have enough resolution. My thoughts are that it may be best to somehow average shipping costs and make them free (this must be what 'Wayfare does, or give free shipping on a minimum order.
