It’s not enough any longer to be a great networker.
To build a 6 figure plus business today, you’ve also got to be a Rock Star Online Marketer.
Don’t let that intimidate you!
When I started on this online marketing journey less than four years ago…
- I’d never made a dime online.
- I’d never posted on LinkedIn and really didn’t know anything about it.
- I’d maybe posted fewer than 10 times in my life on Facebook.
- I’d never done a live video
- AND… I was walking around telling everyone that social media was “stupid, no one ever made any money on social media”
I’m very happy to report, having had well over 7-figures of income since then, with virtually all of it coming from social media and online marketing, that I was totally wrong on that last one!
Part of becoming a Rock Star Online Marketer, is having great tools to make your life easier.
“MUST HAVE” Tool Kit List
Canva.com
I LOVE Canva! I could spend hours playing on it.
If you’re not familiar with it, it’s a powerful design tool. There are thousands of custom templates, stock photos, graphics, icons, and videos.
You can create your own brand kit.
With the click of your mouse you can resize images for Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, etc.
You can animate your designs.
And you can keep thousands of designs organized in folders.
I use Canva to create
- Social media posts for every platform
- Images for LinkedIn articles
- Infographics
- Banners for LinkedIn, Facebook pages and Facebook groups
- YouTube thumbnails
- Podcast thumbnails
- Logos
- Free guides - Lead magnets
The free version of Canva is a great place to start.
The Canva Pro version is worth every penny at $9.95 per month or $119.40 per year.
Social Media Post Scheduling Tools
It would be impossible for my team and I to handle all my social media posting without scheduling tools.
For each of these schedulers there are pros and cons. The specific scheduler has been chosen for each platform based on its versatility, ease of use, and analytics for that platform.
Buffer.com
In my opinion this is a simple, straightforward scheduling tool for your social media posts.
It can be used for Pinterest, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Google+ and LinkedIn.
I recommend it for LinkedIn posts both on your profile and to a company page (if you’ve got one), and Twitter.
It can be used to post on business pages and in groups on Facebook. Facebook does not allow any third-party scheduling tools to be used on personal pages.
The free version is limited to scheduling only 10 posts at a time.
Buffer Pro is $15 per month or $144 per year.
Later.com
This is my recommended scheduling tool for Instagram.
It can also be used for Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest, but it promotes itself as an Instagram tool.
The free version gives you 30 posts per month.
The Plus Plan is $7.50 per month (billed yearly). This gives you 1 profile per social media platform and 100 posts per month per platform.
The Premium Plan is $16/mo. (billed yearly). It gives you 2 profiles per platform and 250 posts per month per platform.
Tailwind.com
This is my recommendation for scheduling your posts on Pinterest.
There’s a free trial that allows you 100 pins in an unlimited timeframe.
After the free trial, the Plus Plan is $14.99 per month or $119.88 per year.
You can also use Tailwind for Instagram scheduling, however it’s not as robust as Later and you pay the same fees a second time if you want to use Tailwind for Instagram.
Online Calendars
As an Online Network Marketer who is building your team and selling your products you want to have conversations with people in order to close them into your opportunity.
An online calendar is an absolute MUST to make your life so much easier.
Calendly.com is a great place to start with a FREE online calendar.
There are limitations to what you can do with any free tool. The biggest drawback with the free version of Calendly is in terms of reminder emails you can send to your prospect prior to calls.
Acuity.com is what I recommend when you’re ready to move to a paid calendar.
Acuity has lots of reflexibility and is easy to use.
For most people, the Emerging Plan at $15/mo. will work perfectly.
Autoresponders for Email Marketing
If you’re not building an email list, you don’t have a business!
Whether you like it or not, as a Network Marketer you don’t have your own business.
You have no control over…
- the products and their quality
- the cost and price of the products
- the production and delivery of the products
- product promotions
- the compensation plan
- when you get paid
- how you get paid
- and whether the company decides to sell, merge or close down
As a networker you’re a commissioned sales rep.
The only thing you “own” and have “control” over is your email list.
If you’re starting off and money is tight MailChimp has a free version of their autoresponder.
Keap
I HIGHLY recommend Keap as an autoresponder.
It’s what I use and there are different levels of the software at different price points starting at under $50 per month.
The best way to find out more about Keap and to get the best possible price is by booking a call with Krista Bakker who is a Certified Keap Partner.
Text Messaging
In addition to building an email list, every Savvy Online Network Marketer is building a bulk text messaging list.
Your email list and your text message list are the two things you own and they’re the two most powerful ways to get your message out from one-to-many.
WARNING: Do not fall behind the times on this!
If you haven’t started building a text message list of phone numbers and you don’t have a tool to communicate one-to-many…
I’m talking about spending 5 minutes writing a text message that will go out to hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands or more people at once…
