Tell me, what is it you plan to do?with your one wild and precious life???― Mary Oliver?
It is necessary to catch the critic that hinders your growth and development to build and maintain self-esteem and achieve success/progress in life.
Cross the mental bridge from what you don't want to what you truly want!
But you must break it down to one thing.
You must approach your Career Journey by identifying one role and preparing your Career plan around it!
Action Steps
1. Find a slightly more positive way to think of something you have negative thoughts about
Write the positive thoughts down.
Stay focused on these thoughts for a while.
2. When you are thinking of something you don’t want, gently pull your thoughts towards something you do want
Change your thought patterns towards what you want.
” Nothing merely shows up in your experience. You attract it—all of it. No exceptions.” - Abraham-Hicks
If you want things to change, you have to see them as you want them to be instead of observing them as they are.
When you give too much attention to what exists in the present moment, change comes slowly or not at all.
Now most of us are in denial that we can be our own HEROES!
AM I RIGHT? DO YOU HAVE CONFIRMATION BIAS?
Confirmation bias (read more) is a shortcut, not work on ourselves. We don't want to do the hard work. To gather, interpret and learn information, get a mentor or coach oh my it's such a task. Evaluating evidence (especially when it is complicated or unclear) requires a great deal of mental energy.
Our brains prefer to take shortcuts. This saves the time needed to make decisions, especially when we’re under pressure.?One knows that evaluating evidence takes more time and energy, and so the brain looks for shortcuts to make the process more efficient.
In “The Case for Motivated Reasoning,” Ziva Kunda wrote, “we give special weight to information that allows us to come to the conclusion we want to reach.”
Constantly evaluating our worldview is exhausting, so we prefer to strengthen it instead. Plus holding different ideas in our head is hard work.
It’s much easier to just focus on one.
We ignore contradictory evidence because it is so unpalatable for our brains. According to research by Jennifer Lerner and Philip Tetlock, we are motivated to think critically only when held accountable by others.
Today I want to remind each one of you that "YOU ARE A HERO"
A hero to your mom and dad. A hero to your wife and kids. A hero to your sibling and friends. A hero to your team members and colleagues who look up to you or look forward to your support!
Our Beliefs often shape our identities, so disproving them can sometimes be painful or unfathomable to some
Rewire limiting beliefs:
Get out of your doubter mode. Approach someone you know has achieved success in the things you want, who do and did things differently from you and ask them what how they saw where they are now years back. Understand their journey. Learn from their mistakes even before you commit them and try to explore them differently and make the decision based on your findings.
My question to you today is "Are you ready to take the Hero's Journey?"
Are you ready to identify and learn from your mistakes?
Are you ready to let go of the past and welcome the future in your life by working towards it?
The archetypal hero appears in all religions, mythologies, and epics of the world. He is an expression of our personal and collective unconscious, as theorized by Carl Jung and Joseph Campbell
Who is your hero?
What is your ideal career role?
Who are the people whom you know that are currently employed in a similar role?
What can you learn from them?
Are you in denial, do you know what your true strengths are?
How can learn from them and use them effectively?
Are you ready for the uncomfortable journey of identifying & revealing your true potential?
Are you ready to learn from a mentor or coach who has already crossed that threshold?
Have you identified the people who limit your progress and support your growth?
Are you ready plan your approach and prepare for the journey?

Are you ready to accept the rewards and failures the come on this journey?
Here are all 17 steps of the hero’s journey, as outlined by Campbell:
DEPARTURE
1.?The call to adventure: Something, or someone, interrupts the hero’s familiar life to present a problem, threat, or opportunity.
2.?Refusal of the call: Unwilling to step out of their comfort zone or face their fear, the hero initially hesitates to embark on this journey.
3.?Supernatural aid: A mentor figure gives the hero the tools and inspiration they need to accept the call to adventure.
4.?Crossing the threshold: The hero embarks on their quest.
5.?Belly of the whale: The hero crosses the point of no return, and encounters their first major obstacle.
INITIATION
6.?The road of trials: The hero must go through a series of tests or ordeals to begin his transformation. Often, the hero fails at least one of these tests.
7.?The meeting with the goddess: The hero meets one or more allies, who pick him up and help him continue his journey.
8.?Woman as temptress: The hero is tempted to abandon or stray from his quest. Traditionally, this temptation is a love interest, but it can manifest itself in other forms as well, including fame or wealth.
9.?Atonement with the father: The hero confronts the reason for his journey, facing his doubts and fears and the powers that rule his life. This is a major turning point in the story: every prior step has brought the hero here, and every step forward stems from this moment.
10.?Apotheosis: As a result of this confrontation, the hero gains a profound understanding of their purpose or skill. Armed with this new ability, the hero prepares for the most difficult part of the adventure.
11.?The ultimate boon: The hero achieves the goal he set out to accomplish, fulfilling the call that inspired his journey in the first place.
RETURN
12.?Refusal of the return: If the hero’s journey has been victorious, he may be reluctant to return to the ordinary world of his prior life.
13.?The magic flight: The hero must escape with the object of his quest, evading those who would reclaim it.
14.?Rescue from without: Mirroring the meeting with the goddess, the hero receives help from a guide or rescuer in order to make it home.
15.?The crossing of the return threshold: The hero makes a successful return to the ordinary world.
16.?Master of two worlds: We see the hero achieve a balance between who he was before his journey and who he is now. Often, this means balancing the material world with the spiritual enlightenment he’s gained.
17.?Freedom to live: We leave the hero at peace with his life.
