Your Old Leads And Customers Want To Hear From You

The most critical approach to inside sales and customer service is to reach-out. The call center is a reach-out department. So, your old leads and customers want to have a touch from your company, i.e., your call center. So often, reaching-out for a touch leads to MORE. That could be more business, or even an on-line review. At the end of the day, and hopefully in the day, it is time, always, to touch people who have trusted your business in the past.

Tip #1 – Rekindle Old Relationships

Create a report of customers who haven’t purchased anything in the last 6 months, 12 months or who have made one purchase but never reordered.?Get your sales team to call them, and offer a special incentive to purchase.?Something as simple as a $5.00 Starbucks gift card can be enough incentive to order.?This is a great way to increase sales and win back customers.

Tip #2 – Is Your Team Motivated?

What are you doing to motivate your team??If you have a team tasked with outbound calling of past customers, you need to pay them. It is worth it. The lead has already been paid for, and converted to a customer. So, you should have budget to spiff your team.

Also, when was the last time you did a team event, recognized someone for outstanding performance in a group setting that wasn’t expected, or had a senior management member walk the floor and show their appreciation for the sales team??Money is a great motivator but studies show that employees want recognition and appreciation.? Show them they are appreciated!

Tip #3 – Training Is Refreshing

Put together a special training class and make it optional for your inside sales team to attend.? But, make it creative, have prizes and such.?Do it at lunch, before, and after work. Your team loves training. It makes them better. And it shows that you appreciate them.
