Your Moods and Success

Your Moods and Success

Have you ever noticed how your mood affects your ability to think clearly and make decisions? I remember a time when I didn’t see a connection between my inner state and my success. Back then, I treated all my thoughts as equal. Every idea that came to mind felt equally valid and important. I gave my attention to all of them without realizing there was a fundamental difference between who I was in a low mood and who I was when I felt clear and grounded.

Of course, I still feel down sometimes, but now I have much more awareness and understanding of what’s happening.

For those new to my newsletter, I work with founders and leaders to help them optimize their performance for success. One of the most powerful insights I share is the connection between mood and entrepreneurial thinking.

So why is this one of the first insights I hope my clients recognize?

“When I am down, I am not creative. I am not innovative. I am not entrepreneurial in my thinking.” —Steve Chandler, Wealth Warrior

“I am not entrepreneurial in my thinking.” That’s it.

When I coach founders, the biggest shift in their performance happens when they access the entrepreneurial thinking available to them when they are settled and calm.

When you feel down, the thoughts that arise are not of the highest quality, especially if you take them personally.

On the other hand, when you understand how your mind works, you can recognize a low mood for what it is. You don’t take your thinking so personally. When that happens, even in a low mood, more intelligent thoughts can arise and lift you back to a clearer state of mind.

Your mind is already designed for entrepreneurial thinking. It is naturally wired for fresh ideas and creativity. The only thing that blocks this natural ability is getting caught up in unhelpful thoughts, especially in low moods. The moment you step back from taking those thoughts so seriously, your mind can do what it is built to do, think clearly and creatively.

For founders and business leaders, a flow of entrepreneurial thinking is essential for success.

This applies to your team as well. Teams become far more effective and proactive when they operate with a healthy and entrepreneurial mindset.

No matter how low you feel, you’re just one present moment away from a healthier and more intelligent mind.

If this resonates with you, feel free to share it with someone who might find it helpful.

Wishing you clarity and success,

Abdulrahman
