UPS and Aurrigo are partnering to introduce Auto-Cargo, an autonomous electric vehicle designed for moving heavy cargo to and from aircraft at East Midlands Airport, the UK’s second-largest cargo terminal. Auto-Cargo can transport up to 7.5 tonnes of cargo, including full-size cargo pallets or aviation industry standard containers. Its autonomous technology frees up security-cleared drivers for other tasks while maintaining a zero-emission operation.

FedEx Express Europe is set to construct a modern logistics facility in Dublin, Ireland. The facility includes a 14,561 square-meter warehouse, 30 truck loading bays, and 137 van loading bays. It will adhere to eco-friendly standards with features like rooftop solar panels, insulated panels, and UV-protected windows, in line with the Nearly Zero Energy Building (NZEB) standard.
UPS has unveiled the inauguration of three fresh logistics hubs spanning 10,000 square meters in the regions of Bari, Taranto, and Lecce. According to DHL eCommerce’s latest 2023 Global Online Shopper Survey, a staggering 95% of shoppers worldwide have abandoned purchases in the past due to the unavailability of preferred delivery options, such as home delivery or the option to deliver to parcel lockers or shops. Over 70% of survey participants emphasize the importance of sustainability in their online shopping, with nearly half expressing readiness to wait longer for their deliveries.
