Luke 16 perfectly describes our role with money. We are stewards or in other words, managers of it. We do not own it.
Who owns it?
“The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein.”
Psalms 24:1 NKJV
Psalm 50:10, NLT For all the animals of the forest are mine, and I own the cattle on a thousand hills.
Romans 11:36, NLT For everything comes from him and exists by his power and is intended for his glory. All glory to him forever! Amen.
These passages from the Word of God confirm that He is King.
A king owns everything in his domain: everything on the land, above the land, below the land, all the creatures, vegetation, wealth, and including all of the people. It’s ALL His!
Yet, He has given us the privilege to manage the resources he has given us: family, knowledge, wisdom, talents, and more, including money.
When we realize that the money is not ours and His, how much more diligent should we be with HIS wealth?
When we have this revelation, as believers, we do not have a right to do anything contrary to the intent that was put on the money. This is a spiritual precept as I mentioned before in a previous post.
When I hear of churches and non-profits have blanks on their envelopes or show an option to check off online that displays for example, Tithing, Offering, Building Fund, Children’s Ministry, Single Mother’s Ministry, etc. and people give checking off certain options, that shows their intention on where they have decided in their spirit through God’s instruction on where that money is to be given to.
Then I hear about these organizations who do not pay attention to those options…they just do what they want with the money. THAT my friend is a breaking spiritual law and it is rooted in a mammon spirit.
It’s the same on the for-profit side as well. When you are the manager of the money God has helped you produce, He expects you to be diligent with it with tithing, offerings, paying bills on time, savings, putting money aside in 401K’s, IRAs, college funds, insurances, investments, etc.
Once you have taken care of all of the above, doing your part in taking care of your family and future, and you have remaining disposable income, THEN you can be physically free in generosity and rewarding yourself with whatever your heart desires as long as glorifies God and not yourself - whether those are houses, cars, clothes, for yourself and others.
When I coach my clients to shift from 5 and 6-figure incomes to 7-figures and above, I don’t teach tips, tricks, hacks, and tools.
I coach them on shifting from a poverty mindset to the Kingdom mindset. Then I layer it with sales and marketing training that I have learned first-hand from Fortune 250 companies.
This method is the ONLY WAY to increase drastically in a short amount of time AND be sustainable.
Then when they increase their wealth drastically, I team them up with trusted CPAs, Tax Attorneys, Wealth Management professionals, Insurance companies, etc, because I know they will not be able to handle their wealth properly in that short amount of time.
Once I see that they have balanced themselves out with their wealth and they are ready to scale even higher, and they now have a sound mind on the Kingdom principles, they are now ready to be a responsible giver and scale their giving in the fullness of their spirit of generosity.
These are the people who will change the world where we would see a physical difference.
In essence, my heart is not for my clients to make $$$$$ so they can buy all the planes and cars they want.
Side note: Of course, there’s nothing wrong with having nice things as long as you own them, not the other way around.
I’m not only about success. Success is about personal gain. I don’t consider it as an end-all be-all.

At the same time, it is necessary. I use it as a necessary stepping stone to SIGNIFICANCE.
Significance is when you become the earthly source of blessing to many on a massive scale.
Today, there are 3,000 billionaires in this world. They hold $12 trillion in wealth.
There are also 22 million millionaires in the United States.
Yet, why do we have a solvable $30 billion per year problem of world hunger? Why does it even exist?
The problem is not that there is not enough money in the world, but because the money is mostly in the wrong hands.
There are three reasons for world hunger, drug pandemic, and crime in our communities:
1. The Kingdom message is not being preached from the majority of ?pulpits in our churches. It’s the ONLY message Jesus preached!
2. Most of God’s people never stepped up to their actual calling (mainly due to erroneous religious teachings that Jesus never preached)
3. There is virtually no Kingdom finance empowerment in our churches and school systems, mainly due to a negative and selfish lens that is put on the aspect of making money.
And because of this, we have scores of believers who are highly irresponsible with money and who think that the money is theirs when God clearly says that it’s HIS.
I think believers need to come to an epiphany that the money they have in their wallets and bank accounts is not theirs at all, it’s all His. THEN they will have a revelation that they need to get their finances straight (for Him).
In fact, Luke 16 shows that money is the LEAST in the Kingdom of God.
This is why Luke 16:13 says: “No one can serve two masters…..You cannot serve both God and money.”
Why can’t you serve God and money at the same time?
Because God is the MOST HIGH and money is the LEAST. You cannot serve the MOST HIGH and the LEAST at the same time! You will be destroyed by that tug of war.
Everything else comes after money in the Kingdom. In essence, when you manage money successfully, THEN God promotes you to His higher callings in life since money is involved as a basis of success in every aspect of your life.
So, understand your role with money (stewardship/management). You don’t own it. You don’t call the shots with it. Follow God’s blueprint of money management in His Word.
How you understand it and apply wisdom with it, determines the rest of the course of your life.
