Your mind ...
What is this mind, a series of thoughts, another individual, a perspective, someone you are always in war with, a world you don't want to be in, or want to be in, a provoker or a peacemaker.... there are a zillion ways to define mind in a non scientific way.
Mind can be put to use to ponder some great thoughts, solve NASA or Sherlock like problems, experiments and serve humanity but you in your perplexed state of mind you told it to solve your inner problems, you are the one who is trying to use the analytical mind to protect yourself from the natural unfolding of life.
By watching your mind, you will notice that it is involved in the process of making everything okay. Make a conscious attempt not to engage with the mind and slowly disengage. Do not fight your mind, you will never win. It will either beat you down now or come back and beat you later. Instead of fighting the mind just don't participate in it. The key is to be quiet. It is not that mind will ever be quiet but you be quiet and relax.
Just watch the mind and then eventually you will fall behind and with this you are not the thinking mind; you are aware of the thinking mind. The moment you stop putting your heart and soul into the mind as if its your protector, you will find yourself behind watching it. That's how you know your thoughts; you are in there watching them, just like watching a movie; you get to see the whole picture. As a result you will be able to consciously watch your mind... you can watch the mind being crazy and not get involved, that's all you have to do to unplug your crazy mind. The mind runs because you are giving it power of attention.. once you withdraw this attention and the thinking mind will fall away.. Do not get involved with the mind, do not try to stop it.. simply be aware and watch it.. Just let it go.
For example : you are sitting with a group of friends and sipping few cocktails. One of your common friend or colleague walks in and do not say hello to you.. basically didn't acknowledge your presence. You are not sure if they are mad at you or something else.. your mind starts to think of a zillion things. Good time to do a reality check.. does it really matter to you.. Just keep doing this with all the small things in your daily life and set yourself free..

4 年that's a skill to be non judgemental about others.. mind always play that role to mess with complex thoughts, we should be in a position to learn to unlearn judgemental behaviors... we really dont know what's going on in their life who you meet, mind goes with an expectation that 2 way communication is always there when you meet someone.. great Article Ritu!
