Your Mind has a Voice

My reflections last night prompted me to post on my WhatsApp status: I wish we all had the power to read minds. I didn't expect anyone to make an inference as it was an interpretation of what I imagined on the inside. Truthfully, I had so much to type, but that summed up everything I wanted to pass across. How would you feel if your parents could read your mind? I bet you'd be glad if your spouse could know what you had on your mind even if you didn't say anything.
Like a coin had two sides, the ability to read minds is two-sided. As much as it has its detriments, the benefits are myriad. If we all had the superpowers to know how our so-called buddies truly feel about us, we'd realized we have more foes than friends. If you also had the opportunity to know what your acclaimed adversaries think about you, you might end up realizing they don't actually hate you.
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? - Jeremiah 17: 19
Even the Bible attests to the fact that men have corrupt minds and in all honesty, the devil ruins lives through the ideas he suggests to the mind daily. We'd be loners if we begin to uncover what the intents of our hearts are. However, words can't really convey some of the information we want to pass across. This limitation makes people read wrong meanings to the message we try to share with them and sooner or later, we lose interest in the discussion. By way of illustration, a writer's biggest challenge is penning down the most appropriate interpretation of what he/she has on his/her
mind. In this case, such a person would so much wish that readers could understand what he/she meant.
Our words are powerful, so are the intents of our heart. Having shared my thoughts with you, let me explain what the topic really means.
The voice of the Mind is often referred to as self-talk. If you focus more on each moment of the day without emotions, drama, judgement, you will have less self-talk. The question is: how do we ignore it? We all have consciences and in most cases, it helps us make rational decisions or convicts us. If you are the type that doesn't pay attention, you might end up making wrong moves. Like Joyce Meyer mentioned, our mind is a battlefield. Daily, good and bad thoughts compete for our attention. When your mind is renewed, you'd do right even when human nature (adamic nature) makes you think wrong. The mind of the Holy Spirit and your mind are meant to blend in perfection and this is not difficult if you yield the mind to Him.
Desire a renewed mind? Check this out!
1. Stop feeding your mind with negative thoughts.
2. Confess what you believe and not what you feel.
3. Study and divide the word of Truth (Bible).
4. Ask God to help purge your mind daily.
5. Stay away from negative people.
6. Pray, pray and pray.
Transformation can only come when we change the way we think. What is conceived in the mind, is carried out by the body.
