Your mind is blocked? Here are some solutions!
For the people working in the “creative” branch but also for those who are working under plenty of pressure and have to take fast and smart decisions is really hard to manage their thought as quickly as possible. How to escape from the “mind blockage”? – is the most common question nowadays.
Before we start answering let’s remind that different problems require different solutions. Here are some of the most frequent situations of “mind blockage” and the solutions to resolve them:
Mental blockage – the problem is your way of thinking. You just look at the problem from the same corner and therefore you have the same solutions over and over again.
Solution: Change your way of thinking. Doubt your own views. Ask yourself the question “if only?”. Go to a new place, read a new book. Talk to people who have the opposite opinion of yours and you can collect new ideas from them.
An emotional barrier – the creative process can be really emotional but this is not always good. When you encounter the obscurity zone you can find something shocking for yourself. All this exhausts your emotional energy and makes you demotivated.
Solution: Don’t protect yourself of meeting the obscurity zone. On the way to something unknown it might be helpful to have small rituals, important liabilities but also to organize your free time. You should overcome the pain, the fear and all negative emotions. Imagine that you have to dive in cold water. You can go immediately in or you can get into the water centimeter by centimeter. Yes, from the beginning you’ll be freezing but right after the first shock you’ll feel better.
Habits that interrupt your work – it’s possible that the core of the problem are your habits. You start working too early and go home too late, you work too much or too little – there’re many options.
Solution: Analyze your job attitude. Search your weaknesses. If you don’t have enough energy change your working schedule. If the routine restricts you, improvise! There’s no easy way to find the best option for you. The most important thing is to keep the balance in your life.
A lack – it’s not about lack of money but lack of time, education, resources, equipment, etc.
Solution: You know what? The lack is a great opportunity for creativeness!
A surplus – sometimes a mind blockage can come because you have a surplus of options and decisions.
Solution: Cut everything that is a “surplus” for you. Teach yourself to say “NO”. If you have plenty of ideas choose only the best of them. Response to your e-mails only several times a day. Switch off your work phone – the world won’t end! WE PROMISSE!
