Is Your Milk Clean?: Arabuko's Efforts Towards Enhancing Milk Hygiene.

As we live out our daily lives, it's easy to overlook the intricate process that brings that comforting cup of morning chai to our tables. Ever wondered if your milk is as clean as it should be?

At Arabuko Limited , we have the privilege of being part of the initial stages of milk production, working closely with farmers and aggregators from around the country. Over recent times, our focus has been in Kajiado County, particularly around the areas of Nkoile, Bulati and Enkaroni, where we work with young women under the Arabuko Aggregator Enhancement program who are well on their way into becoming agri-prenuers.???

Initially, their success with the program was evident , as they garnered a milk supply tender with the ???????????? ?????????????? ?????????? ????-?????????????????? ?????????? ??????????????, to supply up to 70 litres of milk a day. What a win!

Unfortunately, their efforts were thwarted as their milk repeatedly fell short during inspections, failing to meet the necessary standard.

To address this challenge head-on, Arabuko Limited partnered with Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO) and ?????????????? ?????????? ?????????????? to conduct a comprehensive training session for our aggregators. The sessions aimed to equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary to elevate their milk hygiene to the required standards, ensuring that every drop that reaches your cup is of the highest quality.

The training provided crucial insights into the specific standards governing milk supply in Kenya. These standards cover various aspects, including hygiene, composition, and storage. For instance, adherence to strict hygiene practices from milking to packaging is emphasized to prevent contamination and maintain the freshness of the milk. Additionally, guidelines on the composition of milk ensure that it contains the necessary nutrients in appropriate proportions, meeting the nutritional needs of consumers.
