Your Mental Health Matters.

Mental Health is the most ignored aspect of health, not enough is being said or done.

According to WHO (World Health Organisation), this year's mental health theme is 'ensuring mental health and wellbeing for all becomes a global priority.'

What is Mental Health? Mental Health is our social, psychological & emotional well-being. with that said, it directly affects how we interact with our family, friends, and community.

It is important in our childhood, parenthood, and adulthood, and plays a huge role in who we are and become.

I grew up having anxiety without knowing and understanding mental health, and because of the lack of knowledge, I was not able to fully express myself, because it always feels like 'no one will understand' hence we are most likely to isolate ourselves from loved ones when feeling down.

You may know someone who is misunderstood and coincidentally judge them without knowing the kind of issues they deal with, and because mental health is not visible to the physical eye at times, it is easy for one to not take it as seriously as they should.

Issues such as bullying, verbal abuse, judgement, and violence are the reason that when dealing with mental health yourself, you will most likely rather keep it within or hire an external party, a therapist, in this case, to assist you in dealing with your social, psychological & emotional well-being.

We are always seeking to better ourselves, so I created a short list of useful techniques that can assist in restoring peace from within.

  1. Talk to someone; professional or close-friend, and if you may find this difficult, journal it and put it in a safe place.
  2. Get out of your routine at least once a month; once a week if needs be; for an adventure; date or lunch with friends, movie night or take a walk to be alone and be clear.
  3. Get a good amount of sleep; lack of sleep may cause you physical illness, so take a rest when you need to.

4. Eat healthy food; this will help you stay at the Top of your game and stay feeling good about yourself.

5. Love yourself a little better, be kind to yourself, and invest in yourself. read more, buy yourself gifts and etc...

I hope you find this article useful, best wishes.
