Gearing up for World Environment Day?
Humanity cannot turn back time, but we can grow forests, revive water sources and bring back soils. We are the generation that can make peace with land. This is the focus of this year’s World Environment Day, the countdown campaign for which was launched on Sunday ?and continues through 5 June.?

Register your event and take part in the #GenerationRestoration challenge . ? ? This year’s observance is one of several important moments this year in the global fight against desertification hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including December’s UN conference on land and drought in Riyadh, the 16th session of the Convention’s Conference of the Parties (COP16) .?
Delegates at the fourth session in Ottawa made substantial headway by producing an advanced draft text of the international legally binding instrument on plastic pollution, including in the marine environment. UNEP chief Inger Andersen cautioned, “We've made good progress on the text and agreed intersessional sessions, but the work is far from over.” The next session will be held in November in Busan, the Republic of Korea.?
