Your Management Style as per "Starter Types"
We know managing people is the most difficult part as no two individuals are same. Each needs to be handled in a particular manner & therefore the need to identify who belongs to which quadrant in the "starter types".
Colloquially,there are four type of starters (in automobile parlance) which has parallels in human behavior & psychology too-Push/Pull/Kick/Self-Starters. Your approach towards managing them depends on who is in which quadrant.
Good motivated workers require less supervision but more recognition & appreciation (Self-starters). Lazy but talented workers needs carrots. Passionate, energetic but generally confused & indecisive workers require guidance & a exemplary leader who can pull them in the right direction.
Workers with "zero desire" are on & off performers who are not sustainable (Kick starters)
How do you rate your juniors & how you plan to shift them to the ideal quadrant?
Quadrant 1:-High Supervision/Low Desire:-Push Start
Quadrant 2:-High Supervision/High Desire:-Pull Start
Carrot & Stick Approach/Incentivize/Counselling/Lead by Example
Quadrant 3:-Low Supervision (Mgt has given up!)/Low Desire:-Kick Start
Not sustainable for long/Waste of time & resources
Quadrant 4:-Low Supervision/High Desire:-Self Start
*Esteem Needs/Recognition/Make them feel important
