Your Mac is in big DANGER!

We think the hackers have become a little classy or they have upgraded their taste. P.S. This time they are targeting Macs. ??

This malware, cleverly named Atomic macOS Stealer (AMOS), apparently has a craving for all things important and private (for example- Things you search on incognito, let's change the topic ??)

Mom, Abhedit knows my incognito search history!

It's like the malware version of a nosy neighbor peeking through your window. It wants your keychain and macOS user account passwords, system information, and even your precious files in the Desktop and Documents folder. Oh, the audacity! ??

But wait, there's more! This little devil also goes after your precious browser data. It wants it all, baby! ?? User names, passwords, credit card numbers, cookies – you name it. It's like the malware equivalent of an all-you-can-eat buffet. ??? And hey, guess what else? It's got a special place in its digital heart for those fancy crypto wallets. You know, the ones from Atomic, Binance, Coinomi, Electrum, Exodus, and more. They're just irresistible to this malware connoisseur. ??

Son of a ..........

Now, brace yourselves for the shocking revelation that the mastermind behind this spectacular piece of software is constantly working on improving it. I mean, who could have imagined such a thing? ?? CRIL, in all their investigative glory, discovered this AMOS thing on Telegram, the oh-so-surprising platform for private messaging channels. And guess what? The creators of this masterpiece have the audacity to advertise their creations for a mere $1,000 per month. What a steal, right? ??

But how does AMOS spread, you ask??? Well, it disguises itself as those oh-so-common unsigned disk image files (.dmg). You know, the ones you download when you're feeling adventurous and want to try out some new apps. Once you open the .dmg file, you'll be asked for your precious Mac user password, and voilà! The malware springs into action. Sneaky, sneaky. ???.

I wish i was this smart, anyway! ??

is it me? Am i the drama?

Let’s skip to the good part now. Apple has some magical protections in place within macOS. They even release these mystical things called security patches through OS updates. So, whatever you do, install those updates faster than a squirrel chasing an acorn. ??? And remember, when you're downloading software, make sure it's from trustworthy sources like the holy grail of security, the App Store, or straight from the developer. Macworld has some super helpful guides to assist you in your quest for Mac safety. Aren't they just the best? ????

Bibbity babbity boo , Apple updates protects you

Wrapping up this newsletter with a joke:

What's the difference between AMOS and a nosy neighbor? ??

A nosy neighbor will only peek through your window. AMOS will steal all your stuff. (Okay that was lame!) ??

Contact us if you need any help regarding cybersecurity. We'll be happy to help you out!

Well, that's all the time we have for today. We hope you've learned something and had a good laugh along the way. Until next time, stay safe, and remember to update your Mac. Ta-ta! ??
