Your LinkedIn profile is your ‘front door’ – is it looking tired, tatty and unloved?

Your front door is looking tired, paint is fading and flaking, it sticks and a hinge appears to be loose. It’s making the rest of the house look a bit tired when it shouldn’t. The windows are good and the front garden is the envy of your neighbours.
If it wasn’t for that door you would be happy. So, what do you do?
Well, if I was to compare a bit of home maintenance with the effort most people put into their LinkedIn profiles you would:
- Not set aside any time to deal with the door.
- Ignore the fact that it’s having a negative impact on the kerb appeal of your home.
- Laugh at anyone that gives you the tiniest bit of advice about how to make some repairs.
- Suggest that you don’t need a decent front door – any coming to your house knows you so why bother?
- Tell anyone that can be bothered to listen that in all the years you have lived there – the door has done its job. It’s been adequate.
Keep ignoring your door and you will either be forced to make emergency repairs, buy a new one (which can be very expensive) or face the embarrassment of having someone tell you that it’s an eyesore.
If, for some reason, you can’t work out how this blog relates to your LinkedIn profile and for that matter, your personal branding – then here’s what you can do.
Challenge Me – part of what we do at DLA is to help people fix their ‘front door’. That usually gets them wanting......click HERE to read the rest!
