If your LinkedIn posts aren’t getting traction, it’s not your writing—it’s your audience.

If your LinkedIn posts aren’t getting traction, it’s not your writing—it’s your audience.

Let’s be honest.

Have you ever put your heart into a LinkedIn post, hit “publish,” and then waited for the magic to happen… only to check back hours later and see nothing? No comments, no likes—just silence?

I know the feeling because I’ve been there. In fact, I’m still figuring this out myself. My posts don’t get tons of engagement yet, but I’ve started to notice something: the problem isn’t always the writing.

The truth is, even the most beautifully written post won’t land if the right people aren’t seeing it—or if it doesn’t resonate deeply enough with their needs.

If this has been your struggle too, here’s what I’ve been learning that might help both of us.

3 Reasons Your Content Might Not Be Working

  1. Your Audience Isn’t Aligned I’ve realized that a lot of the people in my LinkedIn network aren’t actually my ideal clients. If your audience isn’t made up of the people you’re trying to help, even the best content won’t get results.

  1. Your Content Feels Too General When I first started posting, I was writing for “everyone”—hoping to appeal to a wide audience. But the truth is, specificity connects.

  1. You’re Not Inviting Engagement I’ll admit it—I used to end my posts without any kind of prompt or question. I thought the value of the content alone would spark conversations. But people need a little nudge.

Here’s My Realization

The process of building engagement on LinkedIn isn’t about going viral or crafting the “perfect” post. It’s about consistency, clarity, and connection.

I’m still working on this myself—experimenting with my content, refining my audience, and learning what resonates. And honestly? That’s okay. Every post, every connection, every insight is a step forward.

What I’m Asking You to Try

If you’re feeling stuck, here’s something simple you can do today:

  1. Write About a Specific Problem Your Clients Face Think about one challenge your ideal client is struggling with right now. Write a short post addressing it in plain, relatable language.
  2. Invite Engagement Add a CTA like:
  3. Focus on One Connection at a Time Don’t worry about getting 100 likes. Start a meaningful conversation with one person. That’s progress.

My CTA to You

Let’s do this together:

Write a post today, even if it feels uncomfortable or imperfect. Tag me in it—I’d love to see it, engage with it, and cheer you on.

Because here’s the thing: Your voice matters. Your work matters. And the right people need to hear it—they just might not know you exist yet.

Let’s show them.
