Your LinkedIn Endorsements... is time to give them a spruce up?

How are your LinkedIn endorsements looking these days?
Do they reflect the skills that you have and are they all still relevant?
Are your key skills at the top of your skills and endorsements list?
It is all too easy for this area of your profile to become cluttered with old and often totally irrelevant skills. This can happen when people you don't know well try to curry favour by endorsing you for anything and everything leaving you feeling obliged to accept them.
If this sounds familiar then here a few two simple tasks that will help you clean-up this part of your LinkedIn profile, making it more representative of you and what you do. They are
- Drop the skills that aren't relevant or that you no longer want to promote. After all what's the use in being endorsed for something you don't do?
- Prioritise your skills and endorsements so the 3 key ones are at the top of your list so people can easily see your key skills and services.
This only takes a few minutes so why not follow these steps now...?
- Go to your profile page by clicking your photo or name to the left on your home page.
- Scroll down until you find the "Skills & Endorsements" section and click the blue pen icon.
- Remove the skills that are not relevant by clicking the dustbin icons to the right :
- Pin your most important three skills to the top of your list by clicking the push-pin icons to the left. (You may need to unpin some less important skills to make room as you are limited to three pinned entries) :
- Finally re-sequence the entries that aren't pinned to so the more relevant and important ones are at the top of your list using. This is by using the "drag bar" icons to the right (the icon with four horizontal lines).
Hopefully you found this tip useful - you could always help me in return and give me an endorsement for Social Media skills :-)
