"On Your Life’s Journey, Unpacking Your Past is Necessary." -Jeremiah 33:8
In this life there will always be struggles for the soul. And this is interesting because the soul is the part of humanity that is eternal. It is the birthing place of our:
· Desires, and
· Passions.
It then is imperative that you recognize that when the soul was lost to that deep grievous mental poisoning, inherited from Adam, the whole human race, landed into an inhospitable depraved wilderness, separated from God. It matters not where you go on this earth, or whatever spot you choose to land; when you unload your baggage, you won’t unpack:
· Holiness or
· Righteousness.
You can only unpack the lostness that you’ve carried in your soul from birth. But there are some crucial practical principles to consider. No matter how well planned you feel that you’ve prepared your life’s journey, you need the Lord to unpack the vileness that have your soul tainted, (Psalm 12:8), because, the oppressive presence of wickedness has been your constant companion. On the other hand, when this oppressiveness comes to your:
· Mind and
· Heart,
It’s amazing how much extra toxic baggage we voluntarily keep jammed in the hidden compartments of our soul. And try as you may, you’ll find that the brokenness and sin of your past is like huge millstone hanging around your neck. And carrying that stone brings:
· Guilt,
· Shame and
· Weakness.
So starting today leave your broken past in the hand of God, and step out, by faith in the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ into your invincible future with Him, by trusting:
· His agenda,
· His promises,
· His character, and
· His instructions
So that you may grow spiritually beyond your sin plagued inheritance of the past. Now whether you unpack your baggage or you carry it through this life is your decision, so choose well!
