Your Life Truly Depends on Quieting Your 'Inner Critic'.

We all have one, it is biological a part of us. Day in and day out, countless storylines run through our minds.

Why do we have an inner critic? Simply put, it is a part of our limbic system and is designed to scare you away from doing anything that could force you to face a deeper fear. Your brain immediately sounds the alarm and shifts you into 'fight or flight' mode. Once you recognize that you are thinking from survival mode, the lowest level of Maslow's hierarchy of needs, you can do something about it!

The 'inner critic' shows up in two ways: rationalization and procrastination. Ask yourself what is really at the core of your critical voice. Follow a few basic steps to discover how to use these fears/unmet needs to motivate you to create the magical life your heart desires!

  1. Pick something you frequently criticize yourself about.
  2. Write down what you actually say to yourself.
  3. How does that make your feel when you say those words outloud?
  4. What is the 'inner critic' voice trying to alert or help you with?loud
  5. Give gratitude for the lesson and alerting you to what is a deeper fear.
  6. Switch and grow your 'inner voice' of love and compassion. This voice is supportive, encouraging, focused on the possible instead of the impossible!
  7. Lastly, say outloud: "I love you, you no longer have to suffer with that fear. I am safe, and protected."

By learning how to reimagine the future and heal the fears of the past you are opening the doors of unlimited possibilities! Being hard on yourself doesn't work, building the awareness of when you are and changing that 'stinkin' thinkin' you are in the direction of your goals and dreams.

Practice kindness towards yourself and notice how things start to shift.
