Your Life is a Result of Your Own Actions and Decisions
Illuminext Coaching
Illuminext Coaching helps professional migrant women to move to the next level in life and career..!
Hello Everyone,
Illuminext took a much-needed break. I was away with my family for 5 weeks, in beautiful Sri Lanka, traveling around. Thank you Heavenly Lanka Vacations for the amazing customized guided tour around the country. It gave me an opportunity to connect with my roots.
I believe it’s very important to go back to where you came from. It gives you an opportunity to reflect on your life and the journey you have been through.
It also made me realize, I didn't end up being a coach accidentally. My journey has always been about personal development. At a very young age, me and my friend Ganga Nanayakkara started reading books about the human mind, the first one being ′?????? ???? ??????? - Wonder′s of the human mind′ by Sumanadasa Samarasinghe, a book that is similar to ′Power of Subconscious Mind′ by Dr. Joseph Murphy ′, which I read long after that.
We both had books full of motivational quotes from magazines, and papers cut and paste into a book, that we flip through from time to time.
The time we are supposed to do joint studies, we spend talking about interesting topics such as human behaviour and the hidden motives behind those behaviours trying to understand why people do what they do.
From school to the real world, we both ended up being successful professional women. Yet the desire for self-development and self-awareness never died. Ganga quit the job and moved to Corporate Training and started Train and Gain, to help others on their Personal Development journey. In between my busy IT career as a Business Analyst working in multiple cities, I started practicing meditation to satisfy my desire to improve self-awareness.
Many years down the line, we both ended up being ′Life Coaches′. I quit my successful corporate job and went to study ′Life Coaching′. I started my own Coaching Business Illuminext Coaching in 2019 which led me to where I am today.
Today, in addition to being a Business Analyst in the IT sector, I am a Life and Career coach. The path to this point was not accidental. All events and decisions lead me to where I am today. Finding this happy place in Life took time and effort, but the journey was all worth it.
Today I am focusing on coaching migrant IT women, to help them find success and happiness in the country they choose. That′s for a later post.
When I was in Girithale, Sri Lanka, watching the sunset from the side of the hotel pool I reflected on this very personal journey.
“Nothing in your life is accidental, it is a result of decisions and actions you took or the decisions or actions you failed to take”. I′ll leave you with that, inviting you to reflect on your own personal journey.
