Your July briefing: Reforming the world’s food systems
In this month’s issue, we look at the push to reform the world’s food systems, how nature can help cities struggling with record heat, and the growing threat of dust storms.
In depth
Delegates gathered in Rome as part of an ambitious attempt to overhaul the way humanity grows, processes and gets foods to plates. We speak with a UN expert about the UN Food Systems Summit + 2 Stocktaking Moment and how to promote sustainable food production.
As urban enclaves from Marrakesh to Beijing wilt, experts say planting trees, restoring water bodies and tapping into other natural solutions can help cities turn down the heat.
A combination of climate change and land mismanagement is driving desertification from Morocco to China, feeding a wave of more frequent, more brutal storms.

1 年Design of a 'Sola-Shed' is well advanced to produce *Power - Food - Water* security but needs help to make it happen. Sola-Gro South Africa is an initiative that could change how the world deals with all 3 of the above while breaking down barriers to ownership helping individuals, communities, plot holders to small, medium to larger farms grow better quantity and quality produce with a built in water from air irrigation system (also for consumption) while producing its own power through solar panels - This is agrivoltaics at its best..... in a modular (kit) form.
