What do internet connection and marketing have in common, and why should they be implemented in your business strategy as your internet connection?
This question may seem strange and without a real connection, but in the coming few lines, you’ll discover more common points between internet connection and marketing than you think, especially when discussing their impact on your business strategies.
In the previous days, I spent time at WasteExpo 2024 in Las Vegas, meeting customers and prospects and participating in conferences.
One of the most undervalued things I saw is the power of connection.
I’m not talking about the power of internet connection, but the power of people's connections.
Indeed, this significant event, which developed many interesting connection points in the conferences, showed the most critical aspect of our field: people's interest in people.
Yes, you read right: people are interested in other people.
If you didn’t participate in the event, let me clarify: people visited booths to meet their suppliers, to meet their connections, and to continue their relationships with them.
A relationship made by reciprocal interest, shared direction, and supportive ways to expand their business.
That’s cool.
It also gives you a vision of what your clients are searching for and what you are missing in your business strategy: the connection with them.
They want to know you, they want to talk with you, and they want to interact with you.
Every day.
Every moment.
Every hour, they ask questions about what you are doing and how you solve their waste problems.
It could seem inappropriate for our field but appropriate for human behavior.
Indeed, human behavior is the same in all fields.
And starting from it, I saw the parallel between internet connection as an essential asset for a waste management company and marketing.
Especially nowadays, where software, trucks, and people are online, you need to interact with them every single time from your headquarters to support them, check their needs, and offer solutions.
Think what happens every single time your internet connection doesn’t work.
Your entire system crushes.
You are not able to produce any document.
You are not able to send the updates to your drivers.
You are not able to receive payments from your customers.
I know very well how terrible it is.

We cannot stay without an internet connection, for that, even the smartphone you are holding in your hands is always connected.
You need to have frequent updates on your things.
But isn't that the same behavior I told you about a few lines above when talking about the Waste Expo event?
It’s precisely that one.
The same you search in your industry. The same is true for what you receive from your providers.
The same your customers and your prospects are searching for.
And here there is the trick.
There is only one way to have it.
This way, you can implement marketing in your business strategy.
I’m not talking about fancy marketing campaigns or investing money in ad budgets.
I’m talking about staying connected with your audience and sharing the highlights of what you are doing.?
Sharing with them the case histories you have.
Sharing with them the problems they can experience with the mismanagement of their waste.
And go on.
That’s what you should have with your marketing.
Having that in your company will boost your company’s returns because it will increase your target audience's trust in what you are doing and what you can do for them.
Implementing marketing as a strategy in your business will change your business.?
And remember that I’m not talking about ads or images and things.
I’m talking about having strategic marketing in your business.
A topic I’ll cover during the Self-Managed Waste Management Mastermind. The only mastermind that will drive your waste management business to new heights by giving you the skills to leverage marketing, sales, procedures, sales of secondary raw materials, and more.

10 个月Not only connection to internet, I guess for a continuity of the business all key processes must have a back-up! Easy to say but tricky to implement! Thanks once again for this good analysis Sam Barrili
