Last one month – attended series of sessions with Top Academicians & Universities Leadership Team. Key subject was : “Off Line Classes” To “On Line Classes”. While many believed that they are already for the transformation – in reality : It’s not. We are not ready.
o Is your course flow aligned to Online ? 60 minutes of Offline can’t be converted to 60 minutes of Online. Flip Class or basic preparedness communication to be sent to the students
o Are you ready with the Tools ? HW & SW. SW : Zoom / Google Meet etc. Bandwidth requirement of the tool to be looked at. HW – Digital board / Mic / Speaker / background of your session etc. You must have a standard kit for every faculty
o Consistency : From Tools to background to sessions – all your faculties have to maintain the same eco-system. Are we ?
o Class Room Content – Reading Material – Assessment : Is it aligned to Online ? All the 3 have to be completely different from your Offline delivery
o Did you complete your Dos & Donts session for your faculties and students ? This is the most important requirement. Only way to bring consistency
o Reporting tools to be made available to your faculties. This will help them to understand who were all completely online – engagement – interaction level etc
o Do you have a mechanism to keep track of all recorded lectures ? Tagging them & maintaining is not an easy work. And the cloud space requirement is to be worked out properly
o Last but not the least – The “Engagement” part of the Online is very crucial. Unless you address this part – you’ll never be able to declare that you are “Online Ready”
