Your Identity In Christ

I John 5:18 tells us that whoever is born of God keeps himself and the wicked one does not touch him! The word “keep” means to guard and protect. Yes, God is our Divine protection, but we also have a responsibility. If we will stay full of God’s Word and obey it, walk in faith and love, then we will close off all of the devil’s access into our lives! As Ephesians 4:27 says, we are to give the devil no place and no opportunity in our lives! 

        Let’s totally submit our wills to God’s will and completely yield to the working of the Holy Spirit in our lives! It is so important that we do this because there are so many things that are pulling for our attention today, trying to draw us away from what should be our top priority in life, and that is, who Jesus Christ is, who we are in Him and Who He is in us! Our identity should be In Christ and no one else; when it is, then we will not be shaken by anything that happens in this world!! As Christians, we have the true and One and only God living in us! His Name is Jesus! We are new creations in Him! Let’s walk and live in Christ Jesus every day; rooted and built up in our faith in Him (Colossians 2:6-10)!!

       When Jesus was tested by the devil in the wilderness, Satan specifically attacked His identity with the phrase “If you are the Son of God.” Of course Jesus knew who He was, but if the devil would attack Jesus’ identity, I guarantee you that he will attack yours. We need to know that we know who we are in Christ!
