Your ICP ~ and how it affects your brand

I used to think that everyone needs a solution to their finances, but then I was wrong.


I didn't have a particular ICP and that made me scream for too long without results.


Creating content was quite interesting, within myself, I would think I have curated the most amazing content no one could resist.


But then so sad, I end up being the only one liking my post..


When I finally thought I had defined my target audience, I wasn't confident enough to explain whom I offer my product or service to and it was tiring..


I found it a hard math to crack the formulas for what I said I loved doing and as well show people..


With my lack of confidence, I began to generate sales and how was that? I simply adhered to aggressive marketing.


I just wanted to be everywhere at the same time but then I kept revolving in a circle unknowingly.


I offered content writing services, social Media management, copywriting etc all at the same time


Vivian just wanted to be the savior of the day and in my confused shell of understanding my target Audience I kept put in one place..


Now one day, I had the most life changing situation hit me hard and I turned to rethink the overwhelming act I was putting myself too and I chose to focus on one..


I sought more clarity, and everyday I tried hard to understand my ICP.


It became clearer and clearer especially as I chose consistency in my messaging, branding and tone..


Now in order not to make the same mistakes I did, ensure you don't skip a line till end ….

The above chart shows the elements of an ideal customer profile


When you hear of the word ICP, what comes to your mind ??


ICP simply means IDEAL CUSTOMER PROFILE.


Now how do you achieve knowing this correctly;


First you have to define

? Your target audience

? Your ideal audience

? Your ideal client


Now as an individual with a specific niche, the first thing you need to know is your target audience and this is simply a group of people that needs your products or services..


Eg : you could be selling digital products like ebooks, courses, training etc..


Or services like your mentorship, coaching, masterclasses etc…


It can also be physical products too


For instance your target audience could be a group of people selling foodstuffs.


Which means in the large market where so many things are being sold, your target audience cuts across the people selling food stuff .


Now that you know your target audience, let's get down to your ideal audience.


This is a person who is specifically interested in you, and the solution you have for them.


In this case since your target audience are those who sells foodstuffs, your ideal audience will be “Emeka who sells crayfish at no 2 plaza in akute market"


You see what I did there??


In this concept you simply have a curated customer avatar in which you tailor down your content to stating a solution to his/her problem.


Now you will individually do your research on what gives Emeka sleepless nights, his fears and his desires.


Then you tailor down your content to;

?one person

?one problem

?one solution


When you do this, you seamlessly attract Emeka and it helps you sell your solution to Emeka easily..


Lastly, who is your ideal client??

Your ideal client is the person that needs your services, your expertise and your knowledge to help boost his brand/business.


When you know what you are doing, it's easy to attract this person - JUST BE YOU.


Your ideal client is more attracted to your positioning, consistency in branding, tone and your coordination.


It's not about the certificates or the big grammars but making your purpose seen and heard is more important.


Having understood this, defining your ideal customer profile becomes easy..
