Is Your HR Team Stretched? There is a better way!

Is Your HR Team Stretched? There is a better way!

We see it every day – HR teams are busier than ever. Even before you throw recruitment into the mix, the demands placed on their time are becoming ever greater (Changing employment law, DEI regulations, a growing focus on workplace wellbeing, analytics, training – I know, the list goes on!)

This is where a specialist recruitment partner can relieve HR Teams of some of this daunting workload. In this issue of Business Beacon, I want to delve a bit deeper into the very specific advantages of outsourcing recruitment.

I know it’s talked about a lot in rather general terms, (candidate pools, networks and so on), but in order to understand the real-world benefits that you could take advantage of – read on!

Seamless Integration

One of the first misconceptions we address is that a recruitment partner is somehow “outside” of the business. We work hard in the initial stages of the relationship with our clients to ensure we understand and fit into your existing HR workflows and processes. Our aim is to collaborate to ease the workflow, not to add to it!

Once this stage is complete, we can then move onto the recruitment process – and this is more than just sending you a stack of CVs. ?We will help with key tasks like shortlisting candidates, conducting interviews, and booking interviews.

We Understand the Brief - Digging Deeper to Find the Right Fit

If you’ve considered a recruitment partner in the past, you will undoubtedly be aware that one of the primary advantages is access to a candidate pool that may be harder to find independently.

Remember, though, it’s not just active job seekers that we can talk to; we have a huge network of top-quality passive candidates (see my previous post on?passive candidate recruitment).

We can go beyond the obvious to uncover passive candidates - those who may not be actively looking but fit the role. So, instead of waiting (and hoping!) that the right candidate finds you, we will ensure you find the right candidate. It’s a subtle but important difference!

An Independent View of the Market

Recruitment is all we do. And being immersed in this world gives us an added advantage your HR team may not have - an unbiased, external perspective on talent acquisition.

We have worked in this industry and this sector for nearly 20 years. Our independent insights into hiring trends, industry standards, and competitor movements are invaluable.

It’s this experience and insight that also enables us to provide valuable salary benchmarking services, helping you to make informed decisions when negotiating offers with candidates.

Monitoring the Interview Process & Keeping Candidates Engaged

So, you’ve got some promising candidates and a few interviews booked in. Feels as though you’re on the home straight, right? Wrong! It’s at this point that the workload often intensifies. Managing interviews, gathering feedback and closing the communication loop are vital parts of what we do, ensuring everything runs smoothly for all concerned. ?

Keeping those lines of communication open with the candidate is particularly important, especially considering how they can change their minds quickly! We build strong relationships with our candidates, which is vital to keep them engaged and committed.

Real Value for Money

On paper, there may be a moment of apprehension when it comes to the cost of recruitment services. If you have an internal HR team, senior management may question why there is a need for extraneous spending over and above this.

But break down that investment and it becomes apparent very quickly that the value for money is unequivocal. All of the workload reduction, process efficiencies and sector insights are pretty compelling on their own. But once candidates are placed? The results are immediate.

“Robin and Tim understood the challenges very quickly: a well-seasoned director of marketing would not have found this role challenging enough, and may have been put off by some of the operational aspects. A manager recently appointed would not have had the experience to deliver change management nor would he or she have had the gravitas to achieve buy-in to new processes.
These requirements were taken on-board, Tim and the team demonstrated an excellent understanding of the space of supply chain and the candidates had a very good view of the role.
Michelle has been in the role for nearing 5 months and has not only settled in very quickly but also shown leadership of her team and delivers plans with conviction.”

Working Hand-in-Hand with HR

Ultimately, one of the most important things about working with a recruitment partner is to recognise that we are not here to replace or compete with HR teams but to support them.

The most successful partnerships are those where we work in harmony with HR, providing expertise and value that complements your own internal efforts.
