Your Hotel Needs Video Now! This Is Why
There is no secret that great hotel photography can really help your bookings. But what about video? This fantastic resource is only growing in popularity and that is one of the reasons you NEED to be doing video now.
So why should you create a video for your marketing strategy?
Here Are 6 Reasons Why You Should Use Video With Your Hotel Photography:
Video Is Great For Sharing
Video is great for sharing. How many cat videos have you shared in your life? I know that’s cliched, but it’s true. Little video clips (under 30 seconds) are so shareable on social media. And with companies like Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn really pushing video content it’s great for the Algorithms. Which makes it further reaching than stills or written word.
Google Loves It. If Done Right
A video on your landing page is incredibly engaging. And the longer people sit on the page, the more Google loves you. But make sure it is fast loading and doesn’t slow your page load speed down too much or Google won’t love it as much. Speak with your web developer for ways to increase loading speed with video on your page.
Video Gives A Whole Different Feel To Stills
Now, I am traditionally a stills only photographer and have only got into video due to customer demand. But it is a great resource to have! Video has a different feel to stills. Whereas still photography is a snapshot in time, capturing (what appears to be) a single fleeting moment, a video has a timeline and can draw the viewer in. Both definitely have their place. And video’s place is telling a more in-depth story quicker than a number of stills will. Video can also engage more senses such as sound to grab the viewers’ attention.
Tell Your Story As A Banner On Your Home Page
The perfect use of a well-made 30-60 second video is as a home page banner. A well-made video sitting on your home page, telling your story immediately instills trust in the viewer. They can see the venue, hear you talking about it, hear all the background noises and get totally immersed in the experience. Having this backed up with high-quality stills that they can study, will really help your bottom line.
Short Clips To Share On Social Media
As I mentioned earlier, very short video clips do really well on social media. Share short video clips. These can be professionally shot or amateur, depending on the required outcome. But get sharing them now!?
Room/Hotel Tours
This is how I got started in video! Room or hotel tours via video backs up the stills on your site so well. A 5-6 second video showing the room, can show more than a single image. Use both to really drive bookings. But why stop at the room tours? Couple this with a little story
and some shots of the area around you and your hotel and create a home page video banner! Or why not try 360 video or creating a virtual tour? I personally, don't offer or like these as the quality is not where I'd expect for a brand to use, but keep an eye on the technology. I may be offering these in the near future.?
Video is definitely something that should be on your radar. Think outside the box with apps like Tik-Tok, Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn to maximise the use of your video. Also, think about live streaming from your hotel. By advertising or mentioning this on Social Media you can build anticipation and really get fantastic engagement during the Live Event.
