In my previous 8 articles I have focussed on business matters and simple steps you can take to make the additional free time that you may have available work for you as we plan for an uncertain future.
To day I would like to take a break suggest with weather permitting that you focus on your community. I was out walking yesterday, within 2k of my home needless to say and I saw a number of people out in their front gardens tidying up their lawns and flower beds. There were others removing weeds and cutting verges outside of their homes and those of their elderly neighbours. It was great to see such a community spirit with people getting fresh air and working in a relaxed way for the benefit of everyone in their neighbourhood. As someone who lives in an urban setting the pace of life has diluted the value of contributing to the community and perhaps there is an opportunity to reset the clock and reflect on the important things in life, the things that have little commercial value but cannot be measured in terms of their positive contribution to the human spirit.
My continuous message is to use the additional time that so many of us have in a positive way. The opportunity to re-examine the purpose of life above material things and reflect on where we want to take ourselves in the future is a small bonus in the midst of a global crisis and we should not waste it.
