Are Your Hoarding Empty Shoe Boxes?

Empty Shoe Boxes

I like many others love shoes, in fact, I love fashion, in general!

I know that I am not alone in this love affair. But one thing I do not like are empty shoe boxes. I am vexed by an accumulation of them. I am not one to store my shoes in boxes, because I enjoy seeing my shoes on display and as a result of seeing them they truly inspire my outfit choices for the day.

I also despise clutter and shoe boxes particularly an accumulation of them are in my view clutter, they take up unnecessary space.  I do understand the concept of the shoe box in that they are meant to protect the shoes prior to purchase, but once purchased and within my possession I believe shoes are not meant to be boxed in but to be worn and adored.

I also believe that empty shoe boxes have no place in my closet and therefore in my life. Life is filled with enough distractions and clutter, I see no value in accumulating and holding onto empty shoe boxes, which only collect dust and take up precious space, which can be used for other valuables.

Like shoes we as people are also not meant to be put into boxes. We are all unique beings, comprised of many gifts and talents. Imagine a world that embraces us for who we are and allows us to live free of empty shoe boxes! In that ideal world, a world which has no tolerance for boxing people in, a world free of stereotypes and judgments, a world allowing all people to flourish, to walk in their true purpose, this world would cherish authenticity, uniqueness’s and creativity vs. attacking or shunning individuals because they are different. This world would celebrate all differences, this ideal world wouldn’t be offended when we color outside of the lines, in fact the lines would be nonexistent.

I encourage you to take inventory, are you hoarding empty shoe boxes? If so, ask yourself, why? What value are these empty boxes adding to your life and or to the lives of others? What valuable things are these empty shoe boxes prohibiting you from storing and or experiencing?

I have so many shoe boxes in my closet. Every since I read your article I am now seriously thinking about getting rid of them. LOL

Just a beautiful article. I never look at shoe boxes that way.
