In today's competitive business landscape, to win, or simply to hit your goals, it's more important than ever to make sure that everyone in your company is operating at their highest level.
This means setting the bar high and helping everyone to meet it. After all, if each member of your team is operating at less than 8 out of 10, that means your whole company is coasting at less than 8 out of 10. Conversely if everyone strives to perform at a 9 or a 10, suddenly your whole company is energised and focussed on being better still. Of course, this isn't easy. It requires great leadership and for each individual to be constantly pushing themselves to learn and to improve. But the results are completely worth it. When everyone in your company is striving for excellence, you'll be amazed at what you can achieve.
When you think about High Performance, sport is the best analogy, to be at the top of F1, the Premiership in Rugby or Football, a Gold Medal team at the Olympics or anywhere else, the team is unashamedly focussed on winning, attracting the best competitors, driven by the best leaders and coaches, all of whom themselves want to be their best and to build the best. Just look at The Red Roses pictured above!
There is a saying that "The fish rots from the head down" and you will often see this in the change of leadership within a business or a team. Last years top performing soccer team, tumbles down the tables after a change in coach or philosophy from a new owner or manager.

2 年The Sandhurst motto ‘serve to lead’ might be a guiding principle as it captures a key part of leadership being that it is who you are not what you do. You can really dig into the meaning and analyse the subtlety or you can just take it at face value. Either way it is a great motto.
