Your High-Performance Moments Are Coming. Will You Be Ready?

You know the moments I’m talking about.

The big pitch. The tough conversation. The unexpected opportunity to step up.

Some people crush these moments and over time build a reputation as someone who delivers when it counts. Others stumble, hesitate, or walk away thinking, I could have done better.

The difference? It’s not talent. It’s anticipation, a keen eye for opportunity, and great preparation.

Some Moments Matter More Than Others

Not every moment is high stakes, but some define your career. The question is—do you even see them coming?

High-performance (HP) moments fall into one of these four categories:

  • Planned & Prepared – You knew it was coming and were ready. (Examples: major presentation, high-stakes negotiation.)
  • Planned but Unprepared – You saw it coming but didn’t get yourself in gear. (Example: the difficult conversation you’ve been avoiding.)
  • Unexpected but Prepared – You didn’t see it coming right then…but knew you had to be ready. (Example: being asked to contribute in a critical moment and nailing it.)
  • Unexpected & Unprepared – You got blindsided and scrambled. (Think: a surprise leadership challenge that paralyzed you.)

The goal? Shift more moments into the “Prepared” category.

Why Smart, Capable People Choke Under Pressure

You’ve put in the work. You know your stuff. So why do some moments still trip you up?

Here’s what I see over and over again:

  • Fear of failure – "What if I mess up?" → If you never take the shot, you’ll never score.
  • Perfectionism – "It has to be flawless." → Excellence is the goal. Perfection is a trap.
  • Overthinking – "I don’t trust myself in the moment." → Confidence comes from practice.
  • Past mistakes haunting you – "I blew it last time." → That was then. This is now.

What If You Could Train for These Moments?

The best performers don’t leave things to chance. They train to perform under pressure.

Imagine if you could:

  • Recognise HP moments before they happen.
  • Learn to stay cool and think on your feet.
  • Execute under pressure.

You can.

That’s exactly what we’ll do in my High-Performance Moments Masterclass—a hands-on, no-BS session where you’ll learn how to prepare, practice, and win when it counts. Ready to Show Up Strong When It Matters? Register now by clicking here.

Confidence comes from practice. Amen! I've seen this widely misunderstood. Great article, thank you.
