Your health should be your n°1 priority.

It’s strange how life goes and sometimes some happenings bring you back to memories from a decade ago.

Quite recently I had some tooth pain and I had to go urgently to a dentist.

Not a big thing at all but killing the pain was the only thing I had in mind.

This obliged me to reschedule meetings and to adapt quite a lot my agenda, which I hate but no other choice.

In fact, what happened to me is 100% my fault as I didn’t go for a few times to regular dentist visits. This as it takes time, there always a good raison to postpone and I’m in good conditions and brush my teeth’s few times every day, so what could happen….

This brought me back to 10Y ago when my first remote manager started a meeting with below priority list, this as one of my peers was just diagnosticated with a severe back problem which obliged him to stay for a long period home.

 At that time, I was even not 30 and didn’t take such attention on his advice. Now several years later, it’s starts to resonate

To make a story short, you have 3 priorities in life and you can’t change the order:

1.    Your own health

2.    Your family and friends

3.    Work

Often nowadays we flip it the other way around and work becomes largely on top.

But what if you become sick, you will not be able to work neither enjoy life and your family/ friends. Or even worse even disappear from this beautiful world

So better to take care as this Is the main asset you have. Nothing should be more important than taking care of your health.

Secondly, if you don’t take the time to enjoy time with your close’s ones, you will miss great moments, as well start to be alone. And we humans are social beings, so this could for most of us have an impact on our mental health. If you have to face a divorce, separation, loss of a dear one, … you as well know that this is painful and takes almost all your motivation, joy and envy. In the opposite when you spend great moments, this brings a lot of energy which will have an impact on your world and things you do.

Therefore, if you want to be productive, you want to achieve great things at work and in life… take time to listen to your body and prevent instead of being reactive.

Take time to spend quality moments with you dearest ones, have fun, enjoy great moments, build stories and be proud to have a life outside of work.

Finally, and maybe to finish, Quality time is for me more important than duration.

It’s all about personal harmony and how you feel the best between working and private life.
