Is your head in the clouds?

Dear Colleague
Something that terrifies me is when someone says "there is only one way of doing this". There is always more than one way of doing something, more than one way of thinking about something, more than one way of implementing something, more than one way of making something.
Standard Bank Cloud - a single solution to a complex problem is always questionable?
(not only) Standard Bank is moving from a Rand based cost model to a Dollar based one, and moving from a South African owned business to one owned by the USA, technically by Microsoft, Amazon and Salesforce.
I've been thinking about this for the past few years, and watching Standard Bank's progess to the cloud for about the last year. Here is the latest article I read on the subject on 29th August:
“According to Jorg Fischer, chief information officer at Standard Bank: “Our focus on digital and cloud-based solutions has allowed us to reduce investment in on-premises infrastructure and lower capital expenditure. This transition is crucial for us to remain competitive and meet the evolving needs of our customers.””
What is also happening is that Standard Bank is moving from a Fixed Assets, known long term cost Fixed Cost pricing model, to a third party owned assets, Variable Cost pricing model.?
My view is that organizations should decide strategically which parts of their operations should be On Premise and which parts should be in the Cloud and not decide on a simplistic approach to put everything on Third Party owned hardware and outside contractors.
