Your Guide to London During KubeCon Europe 2025

Your Guide to London During KubeCon Europe 2025

We can’t believe it’s already time for another KubeCon Europe. This year, the conference lands in London from April 1 to 4. While we’re all here for the latest in cloud-native and Kubernetes, there’s plenty to explore outside the conference. Whether you’re looking for a great team dinner spot, a cultural deep dive, or just a place to unwind after a packed day, this guide has you covered.

March 31 (Monday): Settle In and Kick Off with a Team Dinner

If you’re arriving early, take the day to get your bearings. London is a sprawling city, but public transport makes it easy to navigate.

Dinner Spot: Dishoom

If you haven’t been to Dishoom yet, now’s your chance. Inspired by Bombay’s Irani cafés, it’s the perfect place for a lively team dinner. Our marketing team suggests you try the Ruby Chicken, Gunpower Potatoes, and Mahkmali Paneer.

Also you're going to want to make a reservation, or you might have a long wait to get a table. (There's a location in Canary Wharf, if you're trying to figure out which is closest to your hotel.)

April 1 (Tuesday): KubeCon Day 1 and a Night at the Theater

Time to get down to business. Make sure to stop by Steadybit at Booth X in the expo hall.

Evening Plans: Pub Trivia at The Old Queen's Head

Gather your sharpest (or just the most fun) co-workers, brush up on your trivia, and get ready for a night of friendly competition, questionable facts, and a few drinks along the way. Whether you’re in it to win or just for the chaos, this is one of the best pub quiz nights in town.

April 2 (Wednesday): KubeCon and Exploring London's Hidden Gems

Another packed day at KubeCon, so make the most of the sessions and networking.

Afternoon Break: Chelsea Physic Garden

Escape the conference buzz with a visit to the Chelsea Physic Garden. Established in 1673, this historic garden houses over 5,000 species of plants, focusing on medicinal and edible varieties. It's a serene spot that offers a unique glimpse into botanical history.

Alternative Afternoon Break: The Cinema Museum

For film enthusiasts, The Cinema Museum offers a nostalgic journey through cinema's golden era. Housed in the former Lambeth workhouse where Charlie Chaplin once lived, the museum showcases a vast collection of cinema memorabilia. It's a hidden gem that provides insight into the history of film and London's cultural past.

April 3 (Thursday): KubeCon and Design Museum Exploration

It's the last full day of the conference. Time to lock in final meetings and take in everything KubeCon has to offer. (Like visiting Steadybit's booth at S453.)

After Hours: Liquid History Tour

With over 3,000 pubs in London, it can be hard to know where to start. The Liquid History Tour handpicks the best of the bunch for a leisurely stroll through the heart of London’s liquid history.

This small-group experience (maximum of 14 people) allows for a more intimate and off-the-beaten-path adventure. Led by local guides, it offers a mix of fascinating history and a chance to share a drink or two along the way. (Book in advance!)

April 4 (Friday): KubeCon Wrap-Up and Unwind

The conference concludes today, so ensure you attend any final sessions or keynotes that interest you.

Lunch Spot: Borough Market

After the conference wraps up, head to Borough Market for some of the best food in the city. It's perfect for a relaxed team lunch before people start heading home. Here's a list of all the current food vendors. Need help making a decision? You can't go wrong with Wright Brothers Oyster House or The Black Pig.

Afternoon Culture Hit: The Design Museum

If you're into tech and innovation, head to the Design Museum. (Heads up, they close daily at 5 pm.) It covers everything from futuristic architecture to AI-driven design. Also - be sure to catch their Tim Burton exhibit while its still there.

Dinner Spot: The Midland Grand

If you're staying one more night, treat yourself to a meal at The Midland Grand at St Pancras. The tasting menu is worth it - especially if the company is covering the bill. ;)

April 5 (Saturday): Departure and Last-Minute Sightseeing

If you have time before your flight, grab a coffee and take a walk through Covent Garden. It's packed with interesting shops, street performers, and great people-watching.

London always has something happening, so if you're extending your trip, check out what's on. There are usually fantastic exhibitions, theater shows, and live music events across the city.

And of course, don't forget to visit us at Steadybit's booth #S453 at KubeCon. We'd love to chat about resilience engineering, chaos testing, and everything in between. See you in London.
