Your questions answered…

What is the Help to Grow Management Course?

It is a 12-week learning programme delivered by Norwich Business School, led by UEA academics, who are experts in their field. The course is a proven national initiative that’s designed for people who are working full-time – with flexible learning enabling you to learn new skills, boost your profits and improve business performance, resilience, and long-term growth.

?

Who is the course for?

The course is for managers and leaders of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that have between five and 249 employees. It is designed for business owners, CEOs and tomorrow’s senior business leaders.

?

What will I get out of it if I sign up?

The course will support you to build your capabilities in leadership, innovation, digital adoption, employee engagement, marketing, responsible business, and financial management. You will receive one-to-one support from a business mentor, and by the end of the course you will have developed a tailored growth action plan to help release the full potential of your organisation. You’ll also continue to benefit from ongoing learning and networking opportunities from the alumni programme.

?

How much does it cost?

The programme is 90% funded by the Government, so participants only need to pay £750 themselves.

?

Is the course just for people working in certain sectors?

Not at all; this course can help you whatever sector you’re working in. Leaders from over 40 regional businesses have taken part in the course since the Norwich Business School began delivering it back in November 2022. These regional businesses are from a wide range of sectors including science and technology, electronics and aviation, social enterprise, retail and logistics.

?

What do previous participants say?

Jordon King, Head of Business Development at Delta Fire Ltd, was part of the course’s first cohort. He commented:

The Help to Grow course has been a great opportunity to network with other businesses, whilst learning from enthusiastic leading academics. Throughout the course, I have had the opportunity to hear how other businesses have overcome challenges faced when growing and had feedback on our own growth plan from both other businesses, and the tutors.

I highly recommend anyone thinking about taking the course to go for it. It will be an investment well made.
