Your guide to additive manufacturing

Additive manufacturing (AM) is an exciting and rapidly changing field. Whether you are a newcomer to the technology or an experienced user; involved in product design or in part manufacturing; or whether your interest is in technical or commercial implications; there is a huge amount to learn.

In recent years, my colleagues and I have published a series of articles on LinkedIn with the goal of explaining some of the opportunities, threats, capabilities and limitations of metal AM. Our goal is to provide an honest appraisal of where the technology is today - its strengths and its weaknesses - and where it is going. As our own knowledge evolves, we continue to update our followers on the latest developments and innovations.

AM Guide

We are often asked if this material is available in a downloadable form, so that it can be shared within organisations and for use in education programs. To facilitate this and to provide a deeper education resource, we have launched the AM Guide - www.renishaw.com/amguide

The AM Guide consolidates our LinkedIn feature articles, grouping them together under broad topics including the business impact of AM, design for AM, applications, industrial AM process chains, as well as the latest news featuring AM technology.

The feature articles are supplemented by a wide range of application and technical documents. There is also an extensive library of explanatory videos - look out for regular video blogs on key topics.
