YOUR GREATNESS!
Words matter. Hard work matters.? Love matters.
The whole person matters. You matter. A mother’s words to her daughter matter.
Last week as I listened to Kamala and Maya Harris share about their mother, I moved beyond my attention to integrity, humanity, and policy agendas to a place of being deeply inspired by something else.
I was deeply inspired by a mother who believed, and told her daughters, that they could be anything they wanted and pushed, encouraged, guided, and loved them into their GREATNESS!
They shared how their mom had great expectations FOR them and even greater expectations OF them. ?And they believed her.
?
Their mother's Wisdom and Love came in the form of other words that included:
‘Never complain about injustice but do something about it.’
‘Never let anyone tell you who you are, you show them who you are.’
‘Never do anything half-assed.’
?
I embrace the essence of the words they shared in their speeches and that their mother shared with them throughout her life.
I am moved to encourage every daughter to know that loving you into your GREATNESS is achievable if you believe it, allow it, and open your heart to it.
To my list of high priorities that include integrity, humanity, and policy agendas, I will add the many loving and wise words of Kamala and Maya’s mother, Shyamala Gopalan, that inspire us all to aim for our GREATNESS!
