Is Your Frog This Big?
That picture was taken a couple years ago when my middle man, Lincoln, was only 3 years old.
He chased that bullfrog for about an hour through the swamp until he finally cornered it and caught it.
He still talks about that frog to this day.
Last week, I sent a bit of a "confessions" email to me database about some major set-backs I've experienced in my business life. I ended the email by talking about the value of SERVING first, and offered my book (on losing weight fast, effectively, and permanently) for FREE.
Many grabbed it, and for that I wanted to say thank you <3
Truth is, rebuilding - both mentally, physically in business and life - is a a challenging process.
But today, good ole Zig Ziglar reminded me of something vital to starting over, to starting fresh...
If you have to eat a frog, don't stare at it too long it'll just get worse.
Sometimes eating a frog is admitting you were wrong.
Sometimes eating a frog is forgiving someone.
Sometimes eating a frog is calling back a client.
Sometimes eating a frog is telling your child you screwed up.
Sometimes eating a frog is telling your boss it's over.
Sometimes eating a frog is quitting a bad habit.
Sometimes eating a frog is being real with yourself and who you are and want to be.
We all have these big, juicy frogs in our lives that hold us back - and until you eat them, until you conquer them, until you get them out of your way - you're stuck, frozen and paralyzed.
But here's what they don't tell you...
If you don't suck-it-up-buttercup and eat those frogs, they'll eat you first.
They'll eat your confidence
They'll eat your joy
They'll eat your peace of mine
They'll eat your reason for living
They'll eat your self-esteem
They'll eat your very soul.
And there's no room for half efforts, you've gotta take it in one shot, you've gotta eat that big, ugly challenge in front of you whole, you've gotta run at it with all your might.
Yes it's scary, yes it can feel like you can't do it, yes you might want to give up, yes you might feel like God has abandoned you...
But God has considered the weight load before he put it into your life.
And he's not going to take it away, he's not going to let you off easy, he's not going to rob you of this incredible opportunity to GROW into your next, absolute best version of YOU.
Whatever you're going through right now, keep going. You've got this, you're on your way, and you ARE going to make it,
To your success,
Al
PS - And YES, I know Brian Tracy has a great book called Eat That Frog, it's one of my favorites :) But in this instance, it was Zig that reminded me of the subject, so I wanted to give credit where credit was do.
PPS - Restarting is hard, and it's even harder (if not impossible) to go at it alone. I'm considering re-opening a weekly accountability call I used to do to help people stay on track each week - would that be of interest? Let me know - [email protected]
