Are your franchisees COACHABLE?

When I was building MY franchise (Teams from Woe To Go), I asked each applicant a few key questions:

  1. Have you ever run a business before? (most hadn’t which wasn’t a surprise)
  2. Have you ever been involved in recruiting? (they would need support staff for their business to grow)
  3. Have you had any experience in sales or marketing? (a crucial part of growing their franchise was to add to MY marketing and to be able to ‘sell’ our service
  4. What help do you need from me for your business to grow?

?This last question was critical for me to understand their ‘attitude’ to being coached. If they replied ‘I need help with everything’ I was happy to work with them 24/7 until they felt confident in going it alone, if they said ‘I don’t need your help thanks’ I DID NOT TAKE THEM ON.

?Your system and your reputation are too valuable to risk taking on anyone with an ‘I-know-it-all’ attitude. ?
