Your Focus Matters

How about this year we all look at people as they truly are? Now, I know that many immediately will think, "Yes, people are terrible, and the world is a terrible place. That is how things really are."

However, that is not the truth. The truth is that the great majority of people are decent, caring people. But for some reason so many people like to see the negative and so act as if the world is mainly full of self-serving, greedy, and downright evil folks whose only goal is to take advantage of them and cause them grief.

Why one would choose to live their life in such a negative way is something I do not understand. They ARE people in the world who are self-serving who care nothing about others. There are thieves and other criminals who take advantage of others. There are those who are just plain evil.

Put those "bad" people in their place as there will always be bad people in the world, but focus mainly on the good as most people are good people. It is just the truth. I will say it again: most people--in fact, the great majority of people--are good people.

So why spend the new year in negativity? Focus on the positive, see people as they really are--mostly good, decent people--and live a better life for yourself in doing so.

You can mope around all year whining and complaining about all the bad people...and really, there is nothing wrong with pointing out the bad ones...but do not let the negative direct the flow of your life. That negative energy you bring upon yourself in doing so will destroy you. Instead, focus on the good people of the world--who are in the great majority--and let that positive energy light your way. Yes, bad people DO have to be dealt with, but do not let them destroy you or let them make your life less than it could be. Put those bad people in their proper place and move on with a positive life. Ignore them, smash them, block them from your life. Do what you have to do, but do not let them destroy you. And never forget those bad people are in the minority. Most people are good people. Keep the positive in front of the negative. Do not let the dark ahead of the light. Do not let the bad pull you into the dark. Grab hold of the good and pull yourself into the light.

I have seen the saying "Good People are Hard to Come By." This is simply not true. Good people are everywhere but you tend to find what you seek. Nearly every day you will find more good people than bad people. If you look for the bad, you will find it, you will focus on it, and your life will become negative. So stop. Find the good people who are everywhere, develop a positive attitude about people, and help make the world a better place.

Some days it may seem as if you can not find those good people to help light your way. On those days, it is important to be a good person yourself as someone else may be searching for a light to help them find THEIR way. Help light the way for others.

But in reality, most days--the great majority of days--you will always find more good people surrounding you than bad ones. Good people are everywhere. If you do not see them, then it is not the fact that they are not there; it is just that your focus is wrong. The bad people will always be there, but do not focus on them. The great majority of people ARE good people. Focus on that. Search for the light, not the dark. Your life will be better for it.
