Your Flow against all FOMO

Happy Friday!
After now we celebrated Thanksgiving and appreciated all we had, the next hype everyone is looking at is Black Friday. Platforms, stores, even B2B offers, use this week to market and sell products to the 'hunters' and 'gatherers'. FOMO is the new Co-Pilot in rapid sales. Better be fast, or it's gone.
It's becoming more intense each year and I recently read, that consumers expect an increase in discounts from their favorite stores and brands.
There are some initiatives, here and there, against mass consumption not beeing part of this game, but in essence, everyone jumps on it, as it works, we are attracted by the 'red prices' the big percentage discounts. All of us.
I don't want to talk too much on that, as in this FOMO something comes to the surface, which is even more important than the big numbers. Our flexibility to what we want and what we need in life.
For those who followed the recommendation of my last week's feature, this one will be a great follow-up or milestone on the journey.
Quick update on my week:
as always, please feel free to reach out for more info.
So you see all is in flow, well my individual flow. And that is what I'd love to talk about today. Not everyone's flow is yours, so take this little inspiration to your weekend - against the odds of Black Friday's FOMO.
Go with the flow - but please your own
It's a challenge as an entrepreneur to be always one step ahead, to follow your gut sometimes even more than what people tell you is right and to trust your instincts. One of the biggest challenges to overcome is not to start walking back and forth or like my friend Carl put it 'do the moonwalk' around the next step, which we all love to do. Let's face it, you're building something entirely new and as much as you want to find the 'how to' online or somewhere in a udemy class or from your advisors, at the end of the day it's you to know it best.
In this very special time of FOMO we tend - as entrepreneurs, founders and aspiring business owners to learn from the best practice in order to not make the same mistakes. Case in point: You did not understand the meaning why you do what you do, when you approach entrepreneurship like that. You might be successful to a certain extend, but you will never have this groundbreaking, lives changing experience of transforming first as yourself and as a trailblazer your industry. So it's critical to NOT follow impulses, but to follow your own crazy brain, gut and idea. And yes, this is sometimes going against what more senior, experienced people tell you to do, because creating something new means to go against the current of 'what is'. So find you own flow is critical.
Pressure comes from a scarcity mindset
Often times you see that you're out of flow entirely, when your business is taking away more energy than it gives you in return. I realize this often when I'm out of flow, when I consult too many people about something. Because it's obvious: the more you ask the more answers you'll receive and the more options you have and than you're easily stuck. I can't tell you how often I hear the sentence of people who have a hard time understanding what I do or why I do what I do, including my dear family. It's a whole new world to them and sometimes it's a challenge to stand your ground when you hear all their doubts about what you do is the right thing to do. All of a sudden you feel 'pressured' either to prove it to them that you've got it all figured out, or you shift your strategy, deviate a lil from your course and try to span a safety net to follow the advise. Oh dear, I did this so so often. The result: stuck. Stuck in the process. No progress at all. As it was their way not mine and I felt this pressure of succeeding even more.
And for those who can rely on that you probably know the feeling of self-doubt, that easily comes along with following a promising advice, with the result, it's not leading you to success but showing how incapable you are of not making it.
This pressure leads to failure as there is so much which is not you but somebody else, which you try to adapt to, but don't identify with. I wrote and talked a lot about the 'identity' you have to step into when you really want a change of your life. Identity is something you step into - which is empowering on multiple levels. The opposite happens when we allow others to get too much in our head.
Get rid of the victim card - take full responsibility
When looking at my CV, my course of life, people often say: 'Impressive, how you handle this after all you've been through, this must be tough, despite the loss and the challenges.' I know it's meant well, but in essence, this is not what you should take as an 'excuse' or as an 'honor'. It's me who made the decisions, that took me a detour, it was me who picked the partners that were not in line with my vision, I decided to allow this emotional abuse, I tried to run away from my purpose, my decision, I made decisions based on not my gut and heart but on logic of other people or advice from the outside. Case in point: It's time to take full responsibility. All that happened in your life - all the good and the bad led you to that point.
Fun fact: Ironically while writing that, my MacBook crashed, and I had to rewrite this part again - so apparently God, the universe was challenging me to take my words seriously and act accordingly. I'm not a victim - I have the honor to rewrite this part to make it even better!

Find your own flow
Against all odds it's still a bit of a challenge to find your own flow in this mess. The many opinions circling around, best practices, so many awards to apply for, so much pressure to bring it to a success and and. I'm here to help, because I've done it more than once. Going against the current and following - as crazy as it is my gut. And it is not something that is happening in theory. Often people think if you manifest and affirm daily things will change. No, things will only change, if you take the actions. A plan is great, but than you need to take action. Action does not only mean commitment. It means your thoughts, words and actions are aligned.
You pretend you already have it all. You pretend and act as if you were already the CEO of a multi-million company and have something to offer that world wants.
So practice daily and ask yourself, is that what I'm doing contributing to my goal? Is it the right way to approach, the right people I'm talking to or just following 'advice' of somebody else? Rewinding your success story, what are the people, steps and milestones that led me to being this kick-ass multi-millionaire? How do I think, act and talk to myself and others? Stepping in this powerful state of having it all, being already there and aware of the contribution you bring to the table in the next conversation, negotiation or investors meeting. You have it all from now on.
It's amazing, I've experienced it this year in so many ways myself. The way you use language stepping into your power is such a differentiator. It is also the hardest part, as we tend to complain and love to push away the responsibility and commitment from us.
I'll share more in the coming weeks and months, what happened in my life, after I left the logic aside and stepped into the crazy gut feeling and just followed my own ideas, putting the advice and best practices as a baseline to do it differently, to write my own story.
The USP of my coaching and advisory - is that I don't provide you with fixed tools and frameworks, I tailor and co-create with you a plan based on different models, which is suited best for your needs. I'm just there to help you to see your power, guide you in the process and encourage you to take the right actions, sharing my experience, creating a space for you to help you see clear what is for you and find your own flow. If this resonates with you, please reach out via DM and don't push it. Act responsible and follow your own voice. Hope this inspires and keeps you going.
Write your own hollywood success story, it's unique, it's yours and it most likely has never been there in that way before - unless if you commit to your true authentic version. This is true for love and business.
What are you waiting for?
Bring it on.
