If your feelings reach the mind it creates relationships

If your feelings reach the mind it creates relationships

The brain/mind togetherness is the essence of life activity in all of us, besides heart achieves the sustainability. Our brain side is exposed to this world through intellect mainly. Feelings, sensations and observations are part of the inputs gathered. Emotions are slightly at higher level as these may have a trigger from intuition, which is superior to our intellect. Emotions may base on feelings as well as the inherent information available readily or historically. Emotions may have more subsets as compared to what intellect has, if we try to explain algebraically.

Mind is obviously the boss. It uses frontal in a way as to react/perform in accordance with what our self gives directions. Heart follows and at times, heart is allowed to have its own say! For me, I find it an evolving relationship. I don’t usually separate emotion and feelings. It is my gut feelings that can usually tell me what’s most true for me, but getting emotional is usually a temporary state of being. I am good at using my mind to see multiple points of view and able to validate many of them. I have spent a lot of younger life confused or unsure and I have been accused of ‘not making up my mind’ about things, but the truth is, as I get older, I am okay with choosing one of multiple options and realizing which one is chosen is a mute point as long as forward movement is made. This seems to be a foreign concept to others around me.

So I guess for me, the mind is the problem solver, and the emotions, or feelings are the guidance system. I don’t have to know or justify why I feel a certain way any more. Learning not to apply logical thinking to that, has been one of my more freeing life lessons. I have also learned, when you tell people what you think, they will try to beg to differ, but when you tell them how you feel, without explanation, it’s much harder for them to ague that point with you, so it can be empowering to just know how you feel, and let life from that point. Emotions are so much stronger than thought because they needed to be.

Imagine a couple million years ago a humanoid creature strutting proudly through the woods. Suddenly a loud rustling noise makes this creature jump up. The sounds this creature hears next are of a seemingly far bigger creature than it. Before the creature can react fear takes hold and, as fast as its legs can carry it, the creature bolts in the other directions without a single thought. Whatever was in that brush, be it Sabre Tooth Tiger or a tiny rabbit, the creature lived. As for the unfortunate ones that did not have strong enough emotions to overpower their thoughts; well, they probably killed a rabbit or two more before encountering something that killed them.

Over time those genes were passed on less and less, and the ones for stronger emotions more and more because they survived. Emotions are so strong because they are an instant way to act much faster and more primal than any conscious thought could be. This was necessary for us to survive for as long as we did, but it was a very long time ago. Nowadays we maybe do not need to worry so much about something rustling in the woods, but that fact changed so recently that we did not have the time to get rid of the powerful emotions we harbor, besides, there is nothing really pushing us to evolve that way.

That being said, there is a reason you are feeling what you are feeling, even if it does not make much logical sense. Emotions do not come from nowhere. Something, somewhere, in some way, triggered your brain to create an emotional response. Maybe it was a fleeting thought, something that you saw in the corner of your eye or a breeze hitting the leaves at just the right time to catch you unawares, but there is always a reason. If you want to remain in control of your emotions you must understand that they did not show up randomly so that you can find the cause.

Trace your emotions back to their origin as best as you can, find out your triggers, and then find a way to create new triggers, better triggers, or shape an environment that supports those triggers you want. That is the way to use your strong emotions to your advantage but you must create a forest in which they can blossom! Every emotion has a purpose and a reason for being there, but if you try to logically banish the emotion to some isolated place in your mind then it will just come back even stronger as you never dealt with the cause of it being there.

Learn to look into yourself when you are feeling something and do not stop asking “why” you feel that way until you find the cause. Sometimes, this is easier said than done, but practice it and you will be able to deal with any and every negative emotion as soon as it shows up! Of course it takes two to relate, it takes two to have contrast, and to see the contrast between the heart and mind, observation and awareness is imperative. The fact that we all acknowledge the undeniable existence of the heart and mind as separate entities, just proves the contrast they provide.

The heart feels, the mind derives logic, arriving to a conclusion every time. From passing simple judgements to making life changing decisions. When we see things in 'ones' and 'zeroes', we are seeing through our senses, the mind that is. With knowledge, the clarity of the eye of the mind becomes enlighten. Approaching but never arriving at 'certainty'. Mind alone will never get us there, for everything you see in this life is consistent but nothing is absolute, He is. All that is created is wired and tuned in such way that absoluteness resides with Him.

Yet, the boundless realm of our hearts would take for a more vague and indefinite set of understanding to comprise it all. The heart is a dimension so vast yet remained hidden by design, can't be manifest and can’t really be justified. Here, we will find ourselves dwelling and mulling over feelings in reflection and projection. It’s the place we go to get consultation on the irrational subjects of life; like love I suppose. It's the only place where you'll truly get to feel how big life and His creation is.

To conclude, in principle, the primary purpose of the mind and heart is to bring upon the greatness that is Him. Not ever that he needed us to make Him be that way, mighty and exalted He is, always. While the heart feels, the mind derives logic. We must arrive to a conclusion that aligned both. Everything in time of course. Position ourselves to be in agreement with Him, to co-exist with Him, and we'll see the contrast in life we've never seen before. The mind is in the business of could or couldn't, while the heart is in the business of should or shouldn't. Arriving on a single judgement every time, and in hindsight we continue to reflect. Cheers!
