After helping hundreds of evolving, emerging and established leaders transform their knowledge into influence by building their professional presence, I KNOW that success isn't about creating more content—it's about executing the right content, consistently.

Here's The Professional Presence Framework to Kickstart Your Thought Leadership ?

Define Your Professional Goals

Your thought leadership journey begins with clarity. Before you create a single post, you need to:

?Identify your expertise and where you want it to take you

?Define your career destination BE SPECIFIC- i.e. I am a VP of Product, and I want to bring my expertise to a Chief Product Officer role for a Series B-D Fintech SaaS company where I feel my expertise can have the most impact.

? Map out your ideal audience: Using the example above - Create awareness of YOU with leadership and board members for Series B-D Fintech SaaS company.

? Connect to as many of them as possible, as well as people who occupy the role you want.

Build Your Digital Foundation

Let's face it for professionals to gain the attention of their ICP aka the persona/company that will hire them ‘starts’ with LinkedIn - it is a dynamic resume, your personal professional digital real estate - make sure you are utilizing it to its fullest potential - maximize your curb appeal?

Optimize your Profile to:

?Align with your target role

? Reflect your core themes and expertise

? Showcase your career value proposition

Content Creation Engine

Here's the secret: You already have the content. It's in your:

  • Email responses
  • Team meetings
  • Client conversations
  • Daily problem-solving

Quick tip - Are you feeling cringy about posting content? Content Cringe Newsletter

#1 Know this is pretty universal (post from a CEO)

#2 Flip the script -Focus on the HELP you can provide - if someone comes to you personally asking for help with something, you are glad to offer it, furthermore, it is gratifying- think of posting content in this framework, take yourself out of the equation

? HELP, inspire, educate at scale

The key is capturing these insights systematically. Have an idea capturing system - A 'Content Sparks' file

? Quick-capture ideas as they happen

? Schedule regular content development sessions- consistent content isn't accidental—it's engineered

? Transform insights into shareable content- BIG HINT - It doesn't have to start with a long-form blog/article

Quick tip - This process doesn't have to start with long thought leadership pieces in fact - posting 3rd party articles for your theme/focus with your POV is one of the best ways to kickstart and solidify your theme and “brand”?

The ABC Strategy

Building your reputation online takes time.

Use your time efficiently, focus your energy in the right direction, with small consistent steps to slowly build it, this circular process of commenting, connecting & content posting will solidify your theme,

GOAL: When someone hears or sees your name they will think or say ‘expert in” <your theme> because they have seen it, they remember it.

Keep the cycle going

Always Be Connecting: Target 10 strategic connections weekly

Your LinkedIn profile is more than just an online resume—it's a dynamic, powerful networking tool. It is a database of potential to kickstart your network growth.? The more people that are aware of you and your professional goals the faster they will be achieved -?

Develop a message template - Set a goal to connect with 10 people a week who occupy the role you want to be in. Connecting will help them to “see” you more often, keeping you top of mind.

Always Be Commenting: Engage meaningfully on relevant posts

Once you have defined your ICP, and you have started to build your connections, jump on relevant posts and create awareness of you.

It doesn't matter if they respond, what matters? Visibility, solidifying your theme and priming the pump to brainstorming ideas.

An off the cuff comment about your point of view is often excellent content fodder.?

It may be awkward and uncomfortable at 1st- this is normal?

The harsh truth ? you need to overcome these barriers because publishing content and being consistently visible online is a career force multiplier, it allows people to reach their professional goals faster.

Each time you jump into a conversation you create visibility of YOU, bubbling up awareness of you, I often hear, “After my comment, someone reached out to me” - remember ‘database of potential’.?

*I have seen role offers come in from a former colleague who was recently reminded of someone's expertise from seeing a comment or post.????

Always Be 'Contenting': Share your subject consistently

The number one ‘hack’ for success is to make the commitment to yourself, to invest in this for long-term benefit

Secret ????♀?- It doesn't have to start with a long-form article, snippets of snackable content often resonate well and can drive your audience to longer pieces, media spotlights and previous posts

You are selling 'YOU'-the product, your skills/value & personality??

All good marketing drives a niche, and solves a problem for the 'customer’, your customers are those that will benefit from your knowledge.

Quick tip - My leading go-to play for solidifying your <professional theme> is curating an industry-relevant or influencer's article, that solidifies the area of expertise/focus you would like to be known for. Share with your audience adding a few sentences about why it resonated or what you disagree with (provocative thinking based on your experience in the field not hateful).

LinkedIn leading practice on sharing 3rd party article

Consistent theme-based content, similar to a marketing email drip - it is a steady stream of YOU, your skills, and your expertise

Quick tip - Struggling with content ideas? Here's a list to spark your thinking

Here's my favorite AI content idea generating prompt

Remember: Imperfect action always beats perfect inaction.

PAY YOUR YOURSELF 1st, by investing in this process

Start small, but start today.
