How many miracles have slipped through your fingers because of ego? I've been there, letting my ego get in the way, missing out on incredible opportunities.
People, places, and things can be frustrating, feelings get hurt, and the ego urges retaliation or escape. Life gets uncomfortable, but we get to choose how we react.
From my experience, the same lessons repeat until I'm willing to have tough conversations, navigate discomfort, and keep my ego in check. It's not about being pushed around; it's about having the confidence to express your thoughts and feelings, paving the way for more meaningful connections or, perhaps, the end of a relationship.
Today, I had coffee conversations with some friends and we talked about the prayer of St Francis of Assisi.? “Lord, make me an instrument of your peace: where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy.”?
Miracles happened throughout my day because I was able to catch my little ego and remember this prayer. Meditation is super helpful as it allows you to practice the pause before reacting.
Tonight while shoveling in yet another beautiful snowstorm, I paused and snapped this photo of our beautiful cabin in the woods and thanked God.
Are you able to see the miracles today and quiet your ego? What tools do you use?
P.S. I'm facilitating a meditation challenge and we're on Day 22 of the 30-day Meditation Challenge you're welcome to join in the practice -> MEDITATION
